THERMALY EXPANDABLE COMPOSITION WITH REDUCED ODOR FORMATION
A thermally expandable composition includes at least one polymer P cross-linkable by peroxide, and at least one acrylate, and at least one peroxide, azodicarbonamide and a zinc compound. The thermally expandable composition leads to low odor formation and low ammonia emission during and after the foaming process. The thermally expandable composition further shows excellent properties in terms of expansion stability.
DIELECTRIC HEATING OF FOAMABLE COMPOSITIONS
A method for dielectrically heating foamable composition to foam and set the composition is described. In particular, radio frequency (RF) heating is used to heat the foamable composition to provide insulation in the manufacture of an article.
Polypropylene foams and processes of making
The present disclosure provides a linear polypropylene foam with, for example, low density and/or high expansion ratio, said linear polypropylene foam comprising at least one polypropylene, at least one alpha nucleating agent, and at least one beta nucleating agent. The present disclosure also provides compositions and processes for making said linear polypropylene foam.
THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION, FOAM PARTICLE, AND FOAM MOLDED BODY
The thermoplastic elastomer composition contains a thermoplastic elastomer and a pigment.
FOAMABLE ETHYLENE POLYMER
The invention relates to a foamable ethylene polymer composition comprising at least one antioxidant, at least one process aid and at least 80 wt % of a peroxide-treated ethylene polymer composition. The foamable ethylene polymer composition has melt strength of at least 2 cN, a density of 940 to 970 kg/m3, and dissipation factor measured at 1.9 GHz of 50-8010.sup.6. The invention further relates to a process for making such a foamable ethylene polymer composition, and use of the foamable ethylene polymer composition in a foamed cable insulation.
Foamed silicone in wound care
A silicone foam is described that is produced in-situ at a wound site, e.g. in a wound cavity, through a multi-component system, based on a physical foaming process, wherein the gas required to form the foam structure is provided through a blowing agent independently of the curing reaction of polyorganosiloxane components of the multi-component system. Therefore, the blowing agent is provided as a distinct entity of the multi-component system that is, in particular, not the result of any chemical reaction taking place in the multi-component system. A device for producing the foam and the corresponding negative pressure wound therapy kit are also described.
Method for Preparing Super Absorbent Polymer
The present disclosure relates to a method for preparing a super absorbent polymer. More specifically, the above method performs a polymerization reaction of a monomer in the presence of an aqueous dispersion of hydrophobic particles, and thus a super absorbent polymer having an improved absorption rate can be prepared without deterioration in absorption properties.
PROCESS FOR FOAMING POLYOLEFIN COMPOSITIONS USING AN AZODICARBONAMIDE/CITRATE MIXTURE AS A NUCLEATING AGENT
A process of foaming a polyolefin, e.g., polyethylene, composition using as a nucleator a combination of (A) azodicarbonamide, and (B) a mixture of (1) a first component consisting of at least one of citric acid and an alkali metal citrate, and (2) a second component consisting of at least one of an alkali metal citrate, a di-alkali metal hydrogen citrate, an alkali metal dihydrogen citrate and an alkali metal bicarbonate, with the proviso that the mixture is not solely composed of alkali metal citrate.
SILICONE FOAM COMPOSITIONS RAPIDLY CROSS-LINKABLE AT AMBIENT TEMPERATURES AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME
Provided are rapidly cross-linkable silicone foam compositions, kits, and methods for filling implanted medical devices in situ or in vivo, the implanted medical devices, including for example, body implants and tissue expanders, the compositions including a platinum divinyl disiloxane complex; a low viscosity vinyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane; a low viscosity hydride terminated polydimethylsiloxane; a silicone cross-linker; and a gas and/or gas-filled microcapsules, where the rapidly cross-linkable silicone foam composition has a viscosity of 150 cPs for 1 min. post-preparation and 300 cPs5 min. post-preparation, at ambient temperature.
Foaming assistant material and foam-molding method
A foaming assistant material and a foam-molding method, which can achieve the functions of a nucleating agent, a dispersant, and the like sufficiently so that the cells can have smaller diameter, the mixing of foreign substances is prevented, and so on, and can produce the high-quality foam-molded article, are provided. The foaming assistant material is kneaded together with a raw material pellet and the mixture is subjected to the foam molding. The foaming assistant material is a pellet obtained by adding inorganic particles, a chemical foaming agent, and a dispersant to a dilution resin. An antioxidant may be added further to the dilution resin. In the foam-molding method, inorganic particles, a chemical foaming agent, a dispersant, and an antioxidant are added to a raw material resin at the same time in a state that the inorganic particles, the chemical foaming agent, the dispersant, and the antioxidant are mixed in advance.
