The invention relates to flame-retardant polyurethane foam materials or polyurethane/polyisocyanurate foam materials (also referred to individually or collectively as “PUR/PIR foam materials” below) and to methods for producing PUR/PIR foam materials by reacting a reaction mixture containing A1 an isocyanate-reactive component, A2 a propellant, A3 a catalyst, A4 optionally an additive, and A5 a flame retardant with B an isocyanate component, wherein the production is carried out using an index of 80 to 600. The invention is characterized in that the flame retardant A5 contains (hydroxymethyl)phosphonate and optionally the dimer thereof as component A5.1.

A process for producing rigid PUR/PIR foams comprising A1 an isocyanate-reactive component, A2 a flame retardant, A3 a blowing agent, A4 a catalyst, A5 optionally auxiliaries and additives, and B an organic polyisocyanate component. Component A1 comprises a triurethane triol A1.1 and a compound A1.2 selected from the group consisting of polyether polyol, polyester polyol, polyether carbonate polyol, and polyether ester polyol. Also disclosed is a rigid PUR/PIR foam, an insulating material, a composite element, and a mixture.
Rigid polyurethane foam containing reactive flame retardant
The present invention provides fire-retarded rigid polyurethane foam comprising the reaction product of polyol and isocyanate foam forming components and a dialkyl phosphorus-containing compound, namely a reactive mono-hydroxyl-functional dialkyl phosphinates, as flame retardant, serving as highly efficient reactive flame retardant in said rigid polyurethane foam.

The present invention provides a two-component foamable silicone composition comprising: a component A comprising (a) at least one polyorganosiloxane having at least one vinyl group, (b) at least one chemical blowing agent, and (c) at least one catalyst; and a component B comprising (d) at least one polyorganosiloxane having at least one vinyl group, and (e) at least one polyorganosiloxane having at least one —SiH group, and at least one expandable graphite in an amount of less than 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the component B, which exhibits excellent flame retardancy, good sealing performance, high compression rate, low gasket density, good dispensing continuity and good cell structure. This invention relates to thermoset, thermal insulating panel, pour-in-place and pour-in-place foams having desirable and unexpectedly low thermal conductivity, and to compositions, method and systems which use and/or are used to make such foams comprising: (a) providing thermosetting foam forming component and a blowing agent for forming predominantly closed cells in the foam, wherein the blowing agent comprises: (i) cis-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-butene (HFO-1336mzzm(Z)) and cyclopentane, with the HFO-1336mzzm(Z) and cyclopentane in the blowing agent together comprising at least about 50% by weight of the total of all components in the blowing agent and (ii) the weight ratio of HFO-1336mzzm(Z) to cyclopentane in the blowing agent is from about 45:55 to less than 68:32 and (b) forming foam from said provided foamable composition.
Foamable, insulating-layer-forming multi-component composition having improved storage stability and use of the same
A foamable, insulating-layer-forming multi-component composition contains alkoxysilane-functional polymer, insulating-layer-forming fire-protection additive, blowing-agent mixture, cross-linking agent, and a flame-protection agent that is miscible in water or another compound that is miscible in water. The individual ingredients of the blowing-agent mixture are separated from one another to ensure inhibition of reaction prior to use of the composition, and the cross-linking agent is separated from the alkoxysilane-functional polymer to ensure inhibition of reaction prior to use of the composition. The foamable, insulating-layer-forming multi-component composition can be used as a foam-in-place foam or for production of molded blocks.

A polymer foam system comprises a polyaldehyde, an inorganic powder, a polycarbamate, a blowing agent and an acid catalyst wherein the polyaldehyde is in an A-side of the polymer foam system and the polycarbamate is in a B-side of the polymer foam system wherein the inorganic powder is selected from a group consisting of Group II oxides and hydroxides, the polyaldehyde has an average functionality of more than one and three or less, the polycarbamate has an average functionality of 3.4 or more and 4.2 or less, the polycarbamate has an average equivalent weight of 200 grams per equivalent or more and 325 grams per equivalent or less, and the average particle size of the inorganic powder in micrometers divided by the ratio of concentration in millimoles of inorganic powder to acid catalyst is 2.5 or more an 9.3 or less.
