The present invention provides a master batch composition for environmentally degrading conventional plastics including a carrier resin, at least one oxidative degradant, at least one nature biodegradable degradant and at least one foaming agent. The present invention also provides a plastic product which is environmentally degradable at a very low cost versus conventional bio-sourced plastics, and has broad applications for single-use disposable applications or for short-lived products that are discarded within two years of manufacture.

Prepare a polymeric foam article having a thermoplastic polymer matrix defining multiple cells therein, wherein the polymeric foam article has the following characteristics: (a) the thermoplastic polymer matrix contains dispersed within it nano-sized nucleating additive particles that have at least two orthogonal dimensions that are less than 30 nanometers in length; (b) possesses at least one of the following two characteristics: (i) has an effective nucleation site density of at least 3×10.sup.14 sites per cubic centimeter of pre-foamed material; and (ii) has an average cell size of 300 nanometers or less; and (c) has a porosity percentage of more than 50 percent by rapidly expanding at a foaming temperature a foamable polymer composition containing the nucleating additive and a blowing agent containing at least one of carbon dioxide, nitrogen and argon.

The present disclosure relates to TPV compositions suitable for foaming, as well as foamed TPV compositions, methods of making the foregoing, and applications of various foamed TPV compositions. The TPV compositions comprise an at least partially vulcanized rubber component dispersed within a thermoplastic component comprising a thermoplastic resin and a propylene-based elastomer, oil, and optionally one or more additives. According to some aspects, the TPV composition may be made in part by preloading some portion of process oil prior to addition of the curative. TPV compositions provided herein are particularly suitable for foaming with thermo-expandable microsphere foaming agents.

A chemical blowing agent for foaming a thermoplastic polymer, for example PVC plastisol or a polymer resin in an extrusion process, said chemical blowing agent comprising a functionalized particulate bicarbonate containing at least one polyoxyalkylene additive, preferably excluding an exothermic blowing agent. The polyoxyalkylene additive may be selected from the group consisting of polyoxyalkylenes, any derivative thereof, salts thereof, and any combinations thereof. The particulate bicarbonate may be preferably functionalized by spray-coating, extrusion or co-grinding with at least one polyoxyalkylene additive. The functionalized particulate bicarbonate may comprise 50 wt % to less than 100 wt % of the bicarbonate component, and 0.02-50 wt % of the additive. The functionalized particulate bicarbonate may further comprise 0.1-5 wt % silica. A foamable polymer composition comprising such chemical blowing agent. A process for manufacturing a foamed polymer, such as foamed PVC, comprising shaping and heating the foamable polymer composition, and a foamed polymer obtained by such process.

The base resin contains EPDM and the masterbatch contains the heat-expandable microspheres in an amount ranging from higher than 300 parts by weight to 750 parts by weight to 100 parts by weight of the base resin and has a Moony viscosity ML 1+4 (100° C.) ranging from 15 to 90. Also disclosed is a method for producing a masterbatch for foam molding, a resin composition containing the masterbatch for foam molding, and a foam-molded product manufactured by molding the resin composition.
