In the molding material, a specific gravity of the dispersed phase is greater than a specific gravity of the continuous phase. The molding material includes a water phase containing a curable compound as the continuous phase, and forms a liquid film on a support. Thereafter, the curable compound in the liquid film is cured. After curing, the dispersed phase is removed.

The present disclosure relates to a process for preparing porous crosslinked hydrophilic polymeric materials. Such materials can be prepared from oil-in-water high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) containing hydrophilic polymers. The oil-in-water high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) comprises two phases: an external continuous aqueous phase containing at least one hydrophilic polymer; and an internal oil phase. The hydrophilic polymer is crosslinked to form a three-dimensionally crosslinked polymer matrix. The internal oil phase is subsequently removed to obtain a porous crosslinked hydrophilic polymeric material. The present invention also relates to porous crosslinked hydrophilic polymeric materials prepared by such a process.

A sponge-forming liquid silicone rubber composition is provided. The composition generally maintains a stable emulsified state, can form a low-density silicone rubber sponge having a uniform and fine open-cell foam structure even when a coating or molding method involving shearing force and thin layer formation is used, is less likely to contract during curing, and that forms a silicone rubber sponge having a density close to the density designed on the basis of water content. A low-density silicone rubber sponge material using the sponge-forming liquid silicone rubber composition is also provided. The sponge-forming liquid silicone rubber composition comprises (A) an alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane, (B) an organopolysiloxane having a silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atom, (C) a mixture of water and an inorganic thickener, (D) an emulsifier, and (E) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst. The contained amount of the component (C) in the entire composition is 70 mass % or more.
