Preparation of mesoporous poly (aryl ether ketone) articles and use thereof
Mesoporous poly (aryl ether ketone) articles are formed from blends of poly (aryl ether ketones) with pore forming additives by melt processing, and can be in the form of a monofilament, disc, film, microcapillary or other complex shapes. The method of formation provides for preparation of poly (aryl ether ketone) articles with high degree of surface area and uniform nanometer pore size. The preferred poly (aryl ether ketone)s are poly (ether ketone) and poly (ether ether ketone). The mesoporous articles formed by the method of the present invention are useful for a broad range of applications, including molecular separations and organic solvent filtration.
PUNCTURE RESISTANT MUTE EXPLOSION-PROOF CUSHION FOR TYRE AND WHEEL THEREOF
A puncture resistant mute explosion-proof cushion for a tyre and a wheel thereof are provided. The explosion-proof cushion is annular, received in the tyre and made of composite nano vinyl acetate copolymer. The explosion-proof cushion includes an inner ring and an outer ring wrapped on the inner ring; when the explosion-proof cushion is installed in the tyre, the outer ring is attached to a top surface and a side surface of an inner wall of the tyre, and a height from the inner ring to the outer ring along a radial direction of the explosion-proof cushion is less than a height of the side surface of the inner wall of the tyre. The explosion-proof cushion of the present disclosure can improve comfort during ordinary driving of the tyre, and simultaneously can protect an integral structure of the wheel when the tyre runs under a condition of a tyre burst.
TUNABLE, RAPID UPTAKE, AMINOPOLYMER AEROGEL SORBENT FOR DIRECT AIR CAPTURE OF CO2
A method of fabrication of a porous polymer aerogel amine material includes preparing a solution comprising at least a solvent, amine monomers having protecting groups, one or more crosslinkers, and one or more radical initiators, heating the solution to promote polymerization and to produce a polymerized material, performing solvent exchange with the polymerized material, causing a deprotection reaction in the polymerized material to remove the protecting groups to produce a deprotected material, soaking and rinsing the deprotected material to remove excess reagents and any byproducts of the deprotection reaction, and drying the deprotecting material to produce the amine sorbent. A system to separate CO.sub.2 from other gases has a polymer porous aerogel sorbent having greater than 5 wt % of amine containing vinyl monomers integrated into a polymer backbone, and the amine containing vinyl monomers may have a molecular weight of less than 100 g/mol.
Acoustically active materials
A polymer matrix composite includes a porous polymeric network structure; and a plurality of acoustically active particles distributed within the polymeric network structure. The weight fraction of acoustically active particles is between 0.80 and 0.99, based on the total weight of the polymer matrix composite. The polymer matrix composite has an air flow resistance of less than 100 seconds/50 mL/500 μm.
HIGH STRENGTH BIOMEDICAL MATERIALS
High strength biomedical materials and processes for making the same are disclosed. Included in the disclosure are nanoporous hydrophilic solids that can be extruded with a high aspect ratio to make high strength medical catheters and other devices with lubricious and biocompatible surfaces.
POLYMER AEROGEL WITH IMPROVED MECHANICAL AND THERMAL PROPERTIES
An aerogel that includes an open-cell structured polymer matrix is disclosed. The aerogel includes 5 wt. % to 50 wt. % of a polyamic amide polymer, based on the total weight of the aerogel, pores and at least 90% of the pore volume of the aerogel is made up of macropores, a porosity of at least 50%, as measure according to ASTM D4404-10, a density of 0.01 g/cm.sup.3 to 0.5 g/cm.sup.3, and the aerogel is thermally stable to resist browning at 330° C.
POLYMER AEROGEL WITH IMPROVED MECHANICAL AND THERMAL PROPERTIES
Aerogel compositions that include polyamic amides, methods for preparing the aerogel compositions, and articles of manufacture that include or manufactured from the aerogel compositions are described.
Flame-retardant copolymers of dialkyl (meth)acryloyloxyalkyl phosphate or dialkyl (meth)acryloyloxyalkyl phosphonate monomers and polymer foams based made therefrom
Polymer foam bodies are made from phosphorus-containing thermoplastic random copolymers of a dialkyl (meth)acryloyloxyalkyl phosph(on)ate. Foam bodies made from these copolymers exhibit increased limiting oxygen indices and surprisingly have good properties. In certain embodiments, the phosphorus-containing thermoplastic copolymer is blended with one or more other polymers and formed into nanofoams.
ANTI-PATHOGEN STRUCTURE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING ANTI-PATHOGEN STRUCTURE, APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING ANTI-PATHOGEN STRUCTURE, AND LIQUID COMPOSITION
An anti-pathogen structure includes a resin structure having a plurality of openings in a surface of the resin structure, wherein the resin structure has an antimicrobial activity or an antiviral activity.
