POLYMER AEROGEL WITH IMPROVED MECHANICAL AND THERMAL PROPERTIES
An aerogel that includes an open-cell structured polymer matrix that can have 5 wt. % to 50 wt. % of a polyamic amide polymer, based on the total weight of the aerogel is disclosed. The aerogel can have a density of 0.05 g/cm.sup.3 to 0.35 g/cm.sup.3 and can be thermally stable to resist browning at 330 C.
Foam compositions
Foam compositions are provided. The compositions are prepared from multi-functional acetoacetate esters and multi-functional amines or acrylates. The foam compositions can include one or more additives. The foam compositions can be used for home and commercial insulation, air sealing, sound proofing, structural improvement, and exterior roofing, among other applications. The foam compositions provide advantages of being isocyanate free and offer reduced exposure to isocyanate.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL HYBRID AEROGELS
The present invention relates in part to the unexpected discovery of novel hybrid organic-inorganic aerogel materials with one-dimensionally aligned pores.
DENDRIMER-BIOADHESIVE POLYMER HYDROGEL NANOGLUE AND USE THEREOF
A nanoglue is formed with one or more bioadhesive polymers, one or more dendrimers, and optionally one or more therapeutic, prophylactic, or diagnostic agents. The bioadhesive polymers and dendrimers are modified with functional groups to permit crosslinking upon one or more stimuli, e.g., ultraviolet irradiation, and form hydrogel in situ at tissue sites. In the repair of corneal wounds, the nanoglue leads to improved rate of healing with less scarring and less inflammation, compared to non-treated cornea or ones treated with sutures. Therapeutic agents can be covalently conjugated to the precursor components and be delivered to specific eye compartments, providing a more efficacious treatment formulation of ocular disorders than delivering drugs in their free forms. Methods of making and using the hydrogel and hydrogel precursor compositions are also provided.
Polymer aerogel with improved mechanical and thermal properties
An aerogel comprising an open-cell structured polymer matrix that includes a polyamic amide polymer is described.
Polymer aerogel with improved mechanical and thermal properties
A method of making an aerogel is described. The method can include obtaining a solution comprising polyamic acid and an imidazole, adding a dehydrating agent to the solution in an amount where the molar ratio of the imidazole to the dehydrating agent is 0.17:1 to 2.8:1 and reacting the solution at room temperature to 100 C. to produce a polymer matrix gel comprising a polyamic amide, and drying the polymer matrix gel to form an aerogel comprising an open-cell structured polymer matrix that includes 5 wt. % to 50 wt. % of the polyamic amide based on the total weight of the polymer aerogel.
RE-CROSSLINKABLE HYPER-BRANCHED POLYMER GELS BASED ON A TRANSMIDATION REACTION
The present invention generally relates to the field of conformance control in oil fields, particularly to a re-crosslinkable preformed particle gel system, and composition thereof. The composition of the re-crosslinkable preformed particle gel system contains monomers, crosslinkers, a polymer matrix, and additives. Components in the composition for re-crosslinkable preformed particle gel in the present invention have excellent compatibility with each other, and the obtained gel has excellent long term high-temperature resistance property. Different from prior products, in the re-crosslinkable preformed particle gel compositions according to embodiments of the present invention, the components that are used to re-crosslink the particle gels may be grafted on the polymer chain and will act as initiator or secondary crosslinker in different conditions. During particle injection process, all compositions would move together, thereby avoiding chromatographic problems typical of prior products.
HIGHLY BRANCHED NON-CROSSLINKED AEROGEL, METHODS OF MAKING, AND USES THEREOF
Aerogel compositions, methods for preparing the aerogel compositions, articles of manufacture that include or are made from the aerogel compositions are described and uses thereof. The aerogels include a branched polyimide matrix with little to no crosslinked polymers.
NEW GIANT MACROMOLECULES: THE COPOLY-DENDRIMERS CONTAINING HETEROATOMS
A synthesis method includes synthesising copolydendrimers containing heteroatoms from at least two dendrimers as starting precursors.
HIGHLY BRANCHED NON-CROSSLINKED AEROGEL, METHODS OF MAKING, AND USES THEREOF
An aerogel that includes an open-cell structure and a polymer matrix is disclosed. The polymer matrix can include a branched polyimide polymer having a degree of branching of at least 0.5. The polymer matrix can contain less than 5% by weight of crosslinked polymers.
