The present application discloses regioselectively substituted cellulose esters, films made from the regioselectively substituted cellulose esters and methods for making the same. Disclosed is a stretched optical compensation film which is a phase difference film containing a cellulose-based resin and having excellent optical properties. The stretched optical compensation film of the present invention contains 0.5 to 30 parts by mass of a β-diketone compound represented by Formula (I) with respect to 100 parts by mass of the cellulose-based resin. FILM FOR AGRICULTURAL GREENHOUSE AND AGRICULTURAL GREENHOUSE

Objects of the present invention are to provide a film for an agricultural greenhouse that can maintain a CO.sub.2 concentration necessary for the photosynthesis of plants even when ventilation is not performed and to provide an agricultural greenhouse using the film. The film for an agricultural greenhouse of the present invention is a cellulose film which contains a cellulose acylate resin and has an equilibrium moisture content of 4% to 8% at a temperature of 25° C., a relative humidity of 80% and a thickness of 60 to 200 μm.

Regioselectively substituted cellulose esters produced in a halogenated ionic liquid process and products produced therefrom

This invention relates to novel compositions comprising regioselectively substituted cellulose esters. One aspect of the invention relates to processes for preparing regioselectively substituted cellulose esters from cellulose dissolved in ionic liquids. Another aspect of the invention relates to the utility of regioselectively substituted cellulose esters in applications such as protective and compensation films for liquid crystalline displays.

Thermoformed Articles Made From Bio-Based Polymers and Compositions Therefore

Biodegradable thermoformed articles are disclosed. The thermoformed articles are formed from a biodegradable polymer composition. The polymer composition contains a cellulose ester polymer, a plasticizer, and one or more other additives. Thermoformed articles can be made in accordance with the present disclosure having low haze and high clarity.
