Thin Single-Site Catalyzed Polymer Sheets
Thin polymer sheets and used thereof are described. A polymer sheet can include greater than 90 wt. % of a single-site catalyzed polyolefin (PO) and have a thickness of at least 0.0254 cm. The sheet can be used to produce molded articles.
Method of making coextruded crosslinked polyolefin foam with polyamide cap layers
Described herein are physically crosslinked, closed cell continuous multilayer foam structures that includes a foam layer comprising polypropylene, polyethylene, or a combination of polypropylene and polyethylene and a polyamide cap layer. The multilayer foam structure can be obtained by coextruding a multilayer structure comprising at least one foam composition layer and at least one cap composition layer, irradiating the coextruded structure with ionizing radiation, and continuously foaming the irradiated structure.
REINFORCED POLYPROPYLENE MATERIAL AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed is a reinforced polypropylene material, comprising in parts by weight: a, 10-90 parts of polypropylene resin, b, 0.5-25 parts of compatilizer, c, 5-60 parts of reinforced fibers and d, 0.1-20 parts of low-hardness toner. The reinforced fibers comprise a component I, a component II and a component III, where the component I is composed of reinforced fibers with a length of 0.1-0.6 mm and accounts for 35-50% of number of reinforced fibers, the component II is composed of reinforced fibers with a length of 0.7-1.3 mm and accounts for 35-45% of number of reinforced fibers, and component III is composed of reinforced fibers with a length of 1.4-2.0 mm and accounts for 5-20% of number of reinforced fibers. The present invention, by adjusting the length and the content distribution of the reinforced fibers in the reinforced polypropylene material formula, greatly preserves the maintained length of the reinforced fibers in the reinforced polypropylene material, and by combining a specific amount of low hardness toner and a specific amount of compatilizer, the low-temperature resilience and the long-term weatherability performance of the resulting reinforced polypropylene material are significantly improved.
POLYOLEFIN-BASED RESIN PELLET AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A polyolefin-based resin pellet which generates less fine powder is provided. The polyolefin-based resin pellet contains: a polyolefin-based resin; an erucic acid amide; and a fatty acid amide having 20 or less carbon atoms, in which a content of the fatty acid amide having 20 or less carbon atoms is 1% to 6% by mass with respect to 100% by mass of a total amount of the erucic acid amide and the fatty acid amide having 20 or less carbon atoms.
Polyolefin based compositions modified by silanes
A thermoplastic polyolefin composition which is capable of being shaped and repeatedly recycled, comprises propylene-based polymers, said composition being modified with 0.01-5 wt % of organic oligomeric silanes selected from partially hydrolyzed alkoxy substituted vinyl, allyl or methacryl silanes, and blends thereof, and 0.0005-0.5 wt % of a compound capable of generating free radicals.
LAMINATE
Provided is a laminate having low air permeability and excellent moisture permeability in a low temperature and low humidity environment. The laminate is provided with a porous substrate and a moisture-permeable membrane disposed on one side of the porous substrate, the laminate having an air resistance of 3000 seconds/100 cc or greater based on the Gurley method according to JIS P8117-2009 and a first moisture permeability of 300 g/(m.sup.2.Math.24 h) or greater based on a moisture permeability testing method (the cup method) according to JIS Z0208-1976 under the conditions of a temperature of 5° C., a relative humidity of 45%, and a wind speed of 0.2 m/s or less.
RECYCLE CONTENT POLYPROPYLENE
A polypropylene composition having a recycle content value is obtained by reacting a recycle content feedstock to make a recycle content polypropylene or by deducting from a recycle inventory a recycle content value applied to a polypropylene composition. At least a portion of the recycle content value in the feedstock or in an allotment obtained by a polypropylene manufacturer has its origin in recycled waste plastics.
Electret sheet
The present invention provides an electret sheet that exhibits excellent piezoelectricity even by light stress. The electret sheet of the invention is characterized by including a charged porous sheet, in which the electret sheet has a compressive elastic modulus of 80 to 300 MPa when compressively deformed at 25° C. and a 50% compression stress of 120 to 300 kPa at 25° C., and thus has the excellent piezoelectricity for light stress and exhibits the excellent piezoelectricity even by light stress (0.5N or less) caused by a pulse wave or a breathing.
FLAME RETARDANT LONG GLASS FIBRE REINFORCED POLYPROPYLENE COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to pellets of a flame retardant long glass fibre reinforced polypropylene composition having a core containing glass fibres and a sheath of a polypropylene compound comprising a flame retardant composition and surrounding said core, wherein the flame retardant composition comprises a mixture of an organic phosphate compound, an organic phosphoric acid compound and zinc oxide. The invention further relates to flame retardant moulding compositions and articles manufactured using the pellets or the moulding compositions.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING LONG GLASS FIBRE-REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITIONS
Disclosed herein is a process for producing a long glass fibre-reinforced thermoplastic polymer composition, comprising the sequential steps of a) unwinding continuous glass multifilament strand containing at most 2% by mass of a sizing composition; b) applying from 0.5 to 20% by mass of an impregnating agent to form an impregnated continuous multifilament strand; and c) applying a sheath of thermoplastic polymer around the impregnated continuous multifilament strand to form a sheathed continuous multifilament strand, wherein the impregnating agent is non-volatile, has a melting point of at least 20° C. below the melting point of the thermoplastic matrix, has a viscosity of from 2.5 to 100 cS at application temperature, and is compatible with the thermoplastic polymer to be reinforced. This process allows trouble-free handling and unwinding of packages, and results in long glass fibre-reinforced thermoplastic products that can be made into articles having good mechanical properties and high quality surface appearance.
