Composite porous film having excellent heat resistance
To provide a composite porous film in which thermal shrinkage is satisfactorily suppressed even when temperature exceeds a melting temperature of a polyolefin resin, adhesion between a microporous membrane and a heat-resistant layer is improved, and dropout of an inorganic filler is suppressed. The composite porous film is composed of the heat-resistant layer formed of the inorganic filler and a binder, and the microporous membrane formed of the polyolefin resin, and the composite porous film having a primary particle size of the inorganic filler in the range of 5 nanometers to 100 nanometers.
DOOR ASSEMBLY
A door assembly. The door assembly may include at least one door panel and a door frame having a plurality of frame members including a header and a pair of side jambs. The invention may also be considered a frame member. The frame member may include a core; and a two-piece top piece adjoining the core to form a structural member. The core and the top piece may be a composite of cellulosic material and at least one other material. The door assembly may further include at least one adjacent panel. Also disclosed are door jamb frame members and mullion frame members.
Heterophasic copolymers and sequential polymerization
This invention relates to heterophasic copolymers of propylene and an alpha olefin comonomer having a high fill phase content (≧15%), and heterophasic polymerization processes using a single site catalyst system with a support having high average particle size (PS≧30 μm), high surface area (SA≧400 m.sup.2/g), low pore volume (PV≦2 mL/g), and a mean pore diameter range of 1≦PD≦20 nm.
EXPANDABLE, SHELF STABLE POLYMER BEAD
The invention relates to an expandable bead comprising a) a polyolefin selected from polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and mixtures thereof and b) thermoplastic microspheres encapsulating a blowing agent.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR THE DEGRADATION OF WASTE POLYPROPYLENE
Disclosed are methods for polypropylene decomposition. Also disclosed are products obtained from the decomposition polypropylene including carboxylic acids, dicarboxylic acids, nitro-substituted carboxylic acids and dicarboxylic acids; as well as the salts, esters, and anhydrides thereof.
COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING 1,2-DICHLORO-1,2-DIFLUOROETHYLENE FOR USE IN FOAM BLOWING APPLICATIONS
This invention relates to compositions comprising 1,2-dichloro-1,2-difluoroethylene (i.e., CFO-1112) and an additional component. The compositions described herein may be useful, for example, in foam blowing applications.
Polyolefin Photovoltaic Backsheet Comprising a Stabilized Polypropylene Layer
Polyolefin photovoltaic (PV) backsheets comprise a polypropylene layer stabilized with (A) at least one hindered amine with 2,2,6,6-tetraalkylpiperdine or 2,2,6,6-tetraakylpiperazinone, either or both in combination with a triazine moiety, (B) a thioester, and, optionally, (C) at least one hindered hydroxybenzoate, and/or (D) an ortho hydroxyl triazine compound. These PV backsheets exhibit a low flame spread index of <100 without the use of FR agents, and the polypropylene layer exhibits good weatherability while providing the required long term heat aging performance necessary for PV modules.
PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF AN ALPHA-NUCLEATED POLYPROPYLENE
The present invention presents a new method for preparation of an α-nucleated crystalline polypropylene based on polymeric nucleating agents and very high cooling rates, further the α-nucleated crystalline polypropylene based on polymeric nucleating agents derived thereof and its use in final articles derivable thereof.
EXPANDED BEAD AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
An expanded bead having a tubular shape with a through hole and a method for producing the same are provided. The expanded bead includes a foamed core layer and a covering layer. A polyolefin-based resin included in the covering layer has a melting point lower than a melting point of a polypropylene-based resin included in the foamed core layer. An average hole diameter d of the through hole of the expanded bead is less than 1 mm, and a ratio d/D of the average hole diameter d to an average outer diameter D of the expanded bead is 0.4 or less. The polypropylene-based resin for the foamed core layer has a flexural modulus of 1,200 MPa or more and a melting point of 158° C. or lower.
