Water-soluble film and method for manufacturing same
The present invention provides a water-soluble film having excellent solubility in cold water, high strength, and excellent hard-water resistance. The present invention also provides a method for simply producing such a water-soluble film. One aspect of the present invention relates to a water-soluble film including a polymer containing an anionic group other than a sulfonic acid (salt) group, and a water-soluble resin. The anionic group-containing polymer excludes an acrylic acid homopolymer. Another aspect of the present invention relates to a method for producing a water-soluble film that includes a polymer containing an anionic group other than a sulfonic acid (salt) group, and a water-soluble resin. The method includes mixing a polymer containing an anionic group other than a sulfonic acid (salt) group and a water-soluble resin.
Porous Pellets of Ethylene-Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer, and Method for Producing Same
Provided are: porous pellets of an EVOH; and a method for producing the same, which can be accompanied by not only washing out of saponification residues in a shorter period of time, but also inhibiting conglutination of the pellets with one another during washing at a high temperature. Porous pellets of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer having pores, wherein in the porous pellets, a proportion (V2/V1?100) of a total value (V2) of pore volumes of pores having pore diameters of 0.5 to 100 ?m with respect to a total value (V1) of pore volumes of pores having pore diameters of 0.005 to 100 ?m is 25 to 40% by volume, and a pore surface area of pores having pore diameters of 0.005 to 100 ?m is 25 to 45 m.sup.2/g.

PVP COPOLYMER FOR HARSH CHEMICAL PACKAGING
A water soluble film useful in unit-dose chemical packaging is disclosed. The film may include: a water soluble saccharide and a polyvinyl alcohol copolymer consisting essentially of: (a) from 80 to 99 mole percent of vinyl alcohol and vinyl ester monomer; and (b) from 1 to 20 mole percent of a pyrrolidone comonomer. Such compositions may be used to provide a water-soluble film simultaneously satisfying requirements in regard to water solubility, biodegradability, and physical properties, even when used for packaging a broad range of harsh, oxidizing chemicals.
AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION
This invention relates to an aqueous coating composition, a greaseproof article and a process of forming a coating on a substrate. The aqueous coating composition comprises at least the following components: an organopolysiloxane (A) which is a polysiloxane compound having at least two alkenyl groups per molecule, an organohydrogenpolysiloxane (B) which is a polysiloxane compound comprising at least two Si H groups per molecule, an hydrosilylation catalyst (C) able to catalyse an hydrosilylation reaction between the organopolysiloxane compound (A) and the organohydrogenpolysiloxane compound (B), an organic copolymer (D) comprising at least two types of repeating units (i) and (ii): unit (i) which is an alkyl group comprising from 2 to 2 carbon atoms, unit (ii) which is an alkyl group comprising from 2 to 12 carbon atoms and having at least one pendant alcohol substituent, water, and the composition is able to form upon curing by hydrosilylation a coating on a substrate.
