Aqueous emulsions containing ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, preparation process thereof and their use as anti-gelling additives of crude oils
The present invention relates to an aqueous emulsion comprising: a) from 50% to 60% of an organic phase dispersed in an aqueous phase, said organic phase containing a mixture including from 24% to 30%, calculated with respect to the final emulsion, of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers and/or polyalkyl(meth)acrylates, indicated in the present description as polymeric component, and a high-boiling organic solvent, or a mixture of said solvents; b) a primary emulsifier at a concentration higher or equal to 0.1% and lower than or equal to 3% by weight, calculated with respect to the final emulsion; c) from 37% to 47% of an aqueous phase; wherein the ratio between said polymer component and said organic solvent in the final aqueous emulsion is at least 1/1 and where the organic solvent and any polymer of the polymeric component have a Hildebrand solubility parameter δ such that, the difference (δ.sub.solvent_δ.sub.polymer) is lower than 2 in absolute value for any polymer of the polymeric component.

The invention described herein generally pertains to a composition that includes a silyl-terminated polymer having silyl groups linked to a polymer backbone via triazole. The silyl-terminated polymer is a reaction product of a functionalized polymer backbone and a functionalized silane. The polymer backbone includes a first functional group, which may be one of an azide or an alkyne. The functionalized silane includes a second functional group may also be one of an azide or an alkyne, but is also different from the first functional group. The functionalized polymer backbone is reacted with the functionalized silane in the presence of a metal catalyst.

Provided is a laminated sheet including an upper paper layer and a release sheet layer, the upper paper layer including synthetic paper and an adsorbing layer, the synthetic paper, the adsorbing layer and the release sheet layer, in order, being laminated, wherein the adsorbing layer is a foam sheet of a resin composition, the resin composition containing crosslinking resultant of 100 parts by mass of a (meth)acrylic acid ester copolymer resin and 1 to 20 parts by mass of a carbodiimide crosslinking agent, the (meth)acrylic acid ester copolymer resin having a N-methylol group, a glass transition temperature of the (meth)acrylic acid ester copolymer resin being no more than −10° C., the release sheet layer consists of a thermoplastic resin sheet, and a rate of tensile elastic moduli is 0.1 to 10, the rate being calculated from a tensile elastic modulus of the upper paper layer and a tensile elastic modulus of the release sheet layer, and a peel strength of the adsorbing layer and the release sheet layer is 5 to 30 N/m, the laminated sheet using a new foamed resin layer having well-balanced properties, the amount of formaldehyde emitted from which is extremely small, as the adsorbing layer, the release sheet and the adsorbing layer having a proper release force.
Polymeric multilayer material and method of making the same
Polymeric multilayer material includes an adhesive layer having first and second opposed major surfaces. A first foam layer is joined to the first major surface and includes a first plurality of expandable microspheres. A first skin layer is attached to the first foam layer and is free of the first plurality expandable microspheres. A second foam layer is joined to the second major surface of the internal adhesive layer and includes a second plurality of expandable microspheres dispersed therein. A second skin layer is attached to the second foam layer and is free of the second plurality of expandable microspheres. A portion of the first expandable microspheres of the first foam layer and of the second foam layer is at least partially embedded within the adhesive layer. Embodiments, of polymeric multilayer materials described herein are useful, for example, as wearable medical or athletic support components. The materials can also be used as protective wrappings. For example, the materials can be wrapped around a sharp corner of an article, building, etc.
Self-adsorbable foamed laminate sheet and composition for self-adsorbable foamed sheet
Provided are a self-adsorbable foamed laminate sheet having excellent weather resistance and causing no paste residue, and a composition for a self-adsorbable foamed sheet used to obtain the self-adsorbable foamed laminate sheet. A composition for a self-adsorbable foamed sheet comprises: a copolymer containing an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer unit and having a solubility parameter (SP value) of 9.7 (cal/cm.sup.3).sup.1/2 or less and a glass-transition temperature of −10° C. or less; and a crosslinking agent.
CELL ENCAPSULATION COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR IMMUNOCYTOCHEMISTRY
Provided herein are compositions comprising: a scaffold polymer having one or more acryloyl groups or one or more methacryloyl groups; optionally a porogen and a crosslinking agent, compositions that upon crosslinking form a hydrogel for use in cell encapsulation and methods for immunocytochemistry of encapsulated cells. Scaffold polymers used are selected from: Poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA); Poly(ethylene glycol) dimethylacrylate (PEGDMA); Poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether acrylate (PEGMEA); Poly(ethylene glycol) methacrylate (PEGMA); and Poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (PEGMEMA), and porogens selected from: Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG); Chitosan; Agarose; Dextran; Hyaluronic acid; Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA); Cellulose and derivatives thereof; Gelatin and derivatives thereof; and Acrylamide and derivatives thereof. The invention also provides, at least in part, compositions for forming a porous hydrogel around a cell suitable for immunostaining of cells within the hydrogel.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING FOAMED BODY
A method for producing a foamed body includes: forming a foamed layer precursor including applying a coating liquid onto a base to form a liquid film and applying an ink onto the liquid film by an inkjet method, where the coating liquid contains a foaming agent and an active energy ray curable material having a radical-polymerizable functional group, the active energy ray curable material contains a multifunctional active energy ray curable material having two or more radical-polymerizable functional groups, and the ink contains a foaming accelerator having a radical-polymerizable functional group; and foaming a desired position of the foamed layer precursor by heating to form a foamed layer. A functional group equivalent of the radical-polymerizable functional group in the foaming accelerator is greater than a functional group equivalent of the radical-polymerizable functional group in the active energy ray curable material.

In some embodiments, a mycelium material includes: a cultivated mycelium material including one or more masses of branching hyphae, wherein the one or more masses of branching hyphae may be disrupted or pressed and/or a bonding agent may be combined with the cultivated mycelium material.
