Provided is an aqueous composition comprising dispersed particles that comprise a polyurethane, wherein said polyurethane is a reaction product of a group of reactants (GR1), wherein GR1 comprises one or more aromatic polyisocyanates and, a polyol component, wherein said polyol component comprises (a) 50% to 99% by weight, based on the weight of said polyol component, one or more polyester polyols, (b) 0.1% to 10% by weight, based on the weight of said polyol component, one or more diols having a hydrophilic side chain, and (c) 0.9% to 40% by weight, based on the weight of said polyol component, one or more polyols different from (a) and (b). Also provided is a method of bonding a metal foil to a polymer film using such an aqueous composition.
Polyurethane foams containing additive manufacturing waste as filler for automotive applications and processes for manufacturing the same
A closed loop recycling process of manufacturing a foam part includes dispersing a filler material recycled from an additive manufacturing (AM) process in at least one foam reactant and pouring or injecting the at least one foam reactant with the filler material into a mold and forming the foam part. The foam part has a foam matrix with between 2.5 wt. % and 30 wt. % of the filler material. The filler material can be a recycled powder from a selective laser sintering process that is not graded (i.e., sized) before being dispersed in the at least one foam reactant. For example, the recycled powder can be a recycled polyamide 12 (rPA12) powder with an average particle diameter of less than 100 micrometers. Also, the least one foam reactant can be a polyol reactant and an isocyanate reactant such that a polyurethane foam matrix with recycled rPA12 filler material is formed.

Provided is a resin molded body capable of increasing a flexural modulus. A resin molded body according to the present invention includes a urethane resin, long reinforcing fibers, an inorganic filler having an average particle diameter of 1 μm or more, and fine inorganic particles having an average particle diameter of 200 nm or less, a content of the fine inorganic particles being 0.06 parts by weight or more and 3.00 parts by weight or less with respect to 100 parts by weight of the urethane resin.

What is described is a composition for production of rigid polyurethane foam, comprising at least one isocyanate component, a polyol component, optionally a foam stabilizer, optionally blowing agent, wherein the composition contains at least one catalyst that catalyses the formation of a urethane or isocyanurate bond, wherein the catalyst comprises salts of amino acid derivatives.

Disclosed are HCFO-containing isocyanate-reactive compositions, polyurethane foam-forming compositions containing such isocyanate-reactive compositions, rigid polyurethane foams made using such polyurethane foam-forming compositions, and methods for producing such foams, including use of such foams as insulation in the construction of refrigerated storage devices. The isocyanate-reactive composition can exhibit a long shelf life, be shelf-stable, and produce a foam with good thermal insulation properties.
HCFO-CONTAINING ISOCYANATE-REACTIVE COMPOSITIONS, RELATED FOAM-FORMING COMPOSITIONS AND FLAME RETARDANT PUR-PIR FOAMS
HCFO-containing isocyanate-reactive compositions, foam-forming compositions containing such isocyanate-reactive compositions, rigid PUR-PIR foams made using such foam-forming compositions, and methods for producing such foams, including use of such foams as insulation in discontinuous foam panel applications. The isocyanate-reactive composition includes a polyol blend, a blowing agent composition, and a tertiary amine catalyst. The polyol blend includes: (1) an aromatic polyester polyol having a functionality of 1.5 to less than 2.5 and an OH number of 150 to 360 mg KOH/g; (2) an aromatic polyester polyol having a functionality of at least 2.5 and an OH number greater than 360 mg KOH/g, which is present in an amount of at least 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the aromatic polyester polyol in the polyol blend; and (3) an amine-initiated polyether polyol having an OH number of at least 500 mg KOH/g and a functionality of 2.5 to 4. The blowing agent composition includes a hydrochlorofluoroolefin and a carbon dioxide generating chemical blowing agent.
Rigid Polyurethane Based Foam with Compression Strength and Fire Resistance
Described herein is a method for the preparation of a rigid polyisocyanate based foam, including mixing (a) polyisocyanate, (b) at least one compound having at least two hydrogen atoms reactive towards isocyanates, (c) optionally flame retardant, (d) blowing agent, (e) catalyst and (f) optionally further additives, to form a reaction mixture and reacting the reaction mixture to obtain the polyurethane based rigid foam where the compound reactive towards isocyanates (b) includes an aromatic polyetherpolyol (b2) and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of an aromatic polyesterpolyol (b1) and a polyetherpolyol (b3) different from polyether (b2). Also described herein is a rigid polyisocyanate based foam obtained from such a method and a polyol component for the production of a polyisocyanate based foam.
ISOCYANATE-REACTIVE COMPOSITION
An isocyanate-reactive composition including: (i) at least one isocyanate-reactive compound; and (ii) a predetermined amount of at least one thixotropic modifier; and a foam-forming composition for producing a polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foam including: (A) at least one isocyanate component; and (B) at least one isocyanate-reactive component; wherein the at least one iso-cyanate-reactive component is the above isocyanate-reactive composition.
