Provided is a curable organopolysiloxane composition for forming a film, which has low viscosity before curing, has excellent mechanical strength and dielectric breakdown strength after curing, and can provide a uniform and thin organopolysiloxane cured film. The curable organopolysiloxane composition comprises: a curing reactive organopolysiloxane, a curing agent, (D1) reinforcing fine particles having a BET specific surface area exceeding 100 m.sup.2/g, which have been surface treated with an organic silicon compound, and (D2) reinforcing fine particles having a BET specific surface area within a range of 10 to 100 m.sup.2/g, which have been surface treated with an organic silicon compound. The mass ratio of components (D1) and (D2) is within a range of 50:50 to 99:1, and the sum of components (D1) and (D2) is within a range of 10 to 40 mass %. A method of manufacturing an organopolysiloxane cured film using the curable organopolysiloxane composition is also provided.

COMPOSITION, FOAMED SILICONE ELASTOMER FORMED THEREFROM, AND METHODS OF FORMATION

A composition for forming a foamed silicone elastomer is disclosed. The composition comprises: A) an organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon-bonded ethylenically unsaturated groups per molecule; B) an organohydrogensiloxane having at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; C) a hydrosilylation catalyst; D) a chemical blowing agent; and E) a physical blowing agent. The hydrosilylation catalyst C) is present in a catalytically effective amount. The chemical blowing agent D) has at least one hydroxyl (OH) group, and is present in an amount to provide a OH content >0 and <500 parts per million (ppm). The physical blowing agent E) undergoes a phase change from a liquid to a gaseous state during exposure to atmospheric pressure and a temperature ≥0° C. The blowing agents D) and E) are different from one another. A foamed silicone elastomer, and methods of forming the composition and foamed silicone elastomer are also disclosed.

The present invention provides: porous spherical silicone rubber particles which have high light scattering performance; porous silicone composite particles; and a method for producing these particles. The porous spherical silicone rubber particles have pores inside the particles or in the surfaces of the particles.

A sponge-forming silicone rubber composition is disclosed. The sponge-forming silicone rubber composition comprises: (A) an organopolysiloxane having at least two alkenyl groups per molecule; (B) an organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; (C) water; (D) a thickener; (E) a surfactant; (F) a silane compound having silicon atom-bonded alkoxy groups, or a partially hydrolyzed condensate thereof; and (G) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst. The sponge-forming silicone rubber composition forms a silicone rubber sponge. In general, the silicone rubber sponge has excellent water absorption and water retentivity.

A foamable silicone composition, includes: (a) at least one organopolysiloxane containing at least two alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atoms per molecule, (b) at least one organopolysiloxane containing at least two hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atoms per molecule, (c) porogenic agents generating gaseous hydrogen in the presence of component (b) comprising (c1) an organopolysiloxane containing at least one hydroxyl group bonded to silicon atom per molecule and (c2) water, and (d) hydrosilylation catalyst; with the proviso that the ratio of the number of moles of hydroxyl groups provided by component (c2) to that provided by component (c1) is within a range of from 1:5 to 20:1. The composition has a low viscosity and a relatively high pot life, and the foam cured therefrom has a low density, uniform porosity and fine cell structure.
