The bead foams and moldings may be produced and/or used for shoe intermediate soles, shoe insoles, shoe combisoles, cushioning elements for shoes, bicycle saddles, bicycle tires, damping elements, cushioning, mattresses, underlays, grips, protective films, in components in the automobile-interior sector or automobile-exterior sector, balls and sports equipment, or as floor covering.
FOAMS BASED ON THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS
The present invention relates to bead foams made of thermoplastic polyurethane and a polyolefins as component II, where the polyolefin consists of a mixture of II a) homopolypropylene, and II b polyethylenes, to moldings produced therefrom, to processes for the production of the bead foams and moldings, and also to the use of the moldings for shoe intermediate soles, shoe insoles, shoe combisoles, cushioning elements for shoes, bicycle saddles, bicycle tires, damping elements, cushioning, mattresses, underlays, grips, protective films, in components in the automobile-interior sector or automobile-exterior sector, balls and sports equipment, or as floorcovering.
FOAM AND MOLDED ARTICLE
This foam has a 25% compressive strength at 23° C. of 90 kPa or lower and an elongation at break at 160° C., measured in accordance with JIS K6251, of 200% or higher. The present invention makes it possible to provide a foam with which it is possible to obtain a molded article having an exceptional appearance even in secondary processing into a complex shape, without harming the flexibility.
THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITION
This disclosure relates to a shaped article made from thermoplastic material which may be a thermoplastic elastomeric material containing a masterbatch of a stick-slip modifier having one or more thermoplastic silicone vulcanisates, an assembly comprising the article and a process for making the shaped article.
Systems and methods for marking plastics
A method of determining the composition of a polymeric body includes applying electromagnetic radiation to the polymeric body, modulating the electromagnetic radiation using a tagant disposed within a polymer composition forming the polymeric body, and receiving the modulated electromagnetic radiation from the tagant at an infrared detector. The electromagnetic radiation received from the tagant has a signature corresponding to the polymer composition forming the polymeric body. A method of making a polymeric body and system for determining composition of a polymeric body are also described.
IMPROVED FILAMENTS FOR 3D PRINTING
Presented herein are materials, methods, and systems for the improved 3D printing improved 3D printing of materials that include polypropylene. In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides a composite comprising a polymer matrix and a plurality of fibers for improved 3D printing. For example, the polymer matrix may have a composition that includes a polymer blend of polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) (e.g., high density polyethylene (HDPE), low density polyethylene (LDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE)), impact modified polypropylene copolymer and/or polypropylene random copolymer with a plurality of fibers. In some embodiments, the plurality of fibers comprises cellulosic nanofibers (e.g., natural cellulosic nanofibers, e.g., cellulose nanofibrils). In some embodiments, filaments are prepared from the composites by melt compounding the polymer matrix (e.g., PP copolymers and/or PP/PE pellets) with a plurality of fibers and extruding the mixture.
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AN ADDITIVE FOR BITUMINOUS CONGLOMERATES WITH HIGH MECHANICAL PERFORMANCES
The present invention refers to a process for the production of an additive composition intended to be mixed into a bituminous conglomerate for road paving. The process includes grinding a mixed waste material containing a mixture of plastic materials, which includes at least one plastic material based on a polyolefin thermoplastic material, washing the ground mixed waste material and separating a portion of low-density material which contains the plastic material based on a polyolefin thermoplastic polymer from the mixed waste material. This portion of low-density material is then ground to a particle size between 10 mm and 20 mm; and then mixed with a material based on polyvinyl butyral. The resultant mixture is further ground to produce an additive composition having a particle size between 4 mm and 6 mm.
