BICYCLE FRAME

The invention relates to a bicycle frame made by injection molding pellets of a long glass fibre reinforced polypropylene composition having a core containing glass fibres and an impregnating agent and a sheath of polypropylene surrounding said core, wherein the pellets have an average length of at least 1 mm, the amount of the glass fibers is 10 to 70 wt % with respect to the composition and the polypropylene has a flexural modulus determined according to ASTM D790A of at least 1000 N/mm.sup.2.

ETHYLENE INTERPOLYMER PRODUCTS AND FILMS

This disclosure relates to ethylene interpolymer compositions and films prepared therefrom. Specifically: ethylene interpolymer products having: a dimensionless Long Chain Branching Factor, LCBF, greater than or equal to 0.001; a residual catalytic metal of from ≥0.03 to ≤5 ppm of hafnium, and; a dimensionless unsaturation ratio, UR, of from ≥−0.40 to ≤0.06, wherein UR is defined by the following relationship; UR=(SC.sup.U−T.sup.U)/T.sup.U, where SC.sup.U is the amount of a side chain unsaturation per 100 carbons and T.sup.U is amount of a terminal unsaturation per 100 carbons, in said ethylene interpolymer product. The disclosed ethylene interpolymer products have a melt index from about 0.3 to about 500 dg/minute, a density from about 0.855 to about 0.975 g/cc, a polydispersity (M.sub.w/M.sub.n) from about 1.7 to about 25 and a Composition Distribution Breadth Index (CDBI.sub.50) from about 1% to about 98%.

FOAMS BASED ON THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS

Bead foams made of thermoplastic polyurethane and polypropylene(s), moldings produced therefrom, processes for the production of the bead foams and moldings, and uses of the moldings in shoe intermediate soles, shoe insoles, shoe combisoles, cushioning elements for shoes, bicycle saddles, bicycle tires, damping elements, cushioning, mattresses, underlays, grips, protective films, in components in the automobile-interior sector or automobile-exterior sector, balls and sports equipment, or as floor covering, may be based on composition with (a) 60 to 90 wt. % of thermoplastic polyurethane as component I, (b) 10 to 40 wt. % of polypropylene as components II, where the entirety of components I and II provides 100 wt. %.

FOAM AND MOLDED ARTICLE

This foam has a 25% compressive strength at 23° C. of 90 kPa or lower and an elongation at break at 160° C., measured in accordance with JIS K6251, of 200% or higher. The present invention makes it possible to provide a foam with which it is possible to obtain a molded article having an exceptional appearance even in secondary processing into a complex shape, without harming the flexibility.

Crosslinked rubber dispersion in thermoplastic vulcanizates

Use of twin screw extrusion to further enhance the uniformity of crosslinked rubber dispersion in thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) to improve elastic properties of TPVs is disclosed. Most specifically, this invention employs intermeshing twin screw extruders to further homogenize dynamically vulcanized rubber dispersions in TPVs so that their particle size dispersion index (PSDI), or the ratio of weight average equivalent dispersion particle diameter to number average equivalent dispersion particle diameter, can be lowered to less than 1.6 or 1.57 with corresponding elastic property improvements by having lower hysteresis, higher elongation to break, and higher retractive force. TPV products having lower PSDI and improved elastic properties, and apparatus for conducting the disclosed method, are also provided.
