The present invention relates to cellular solid materials comprising cellulose nanofibers (CNF) and an anionic or non-ionic surfactant, a method for preparation of such materials, as well as their use.
Microwave shielding effectiveness based on polyvinyl alcohol/silver hybrid nanocomposites
A composite material for electromagnetic interference shielding is provided. The composite material comprises a polymer matrix with metal nanoparticles dispersed within the matrix. Methods of characterizing the nanocomposites are provided and demonstrate commercially relevant mechanical and electrical properties, particularly an electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness in the microwave frequency. An economical process for preparing the nanocomposites is also provided.
Diacetylene film sensitized with photoinitiator and applications of the film
A process for improving sensitivity of a film base, coated with a dispersion of a normally crystalline polyacetylenic compound in a non-solvating liquid which is dried on the film surface, to particular photon energy band, specifically, long wavelength UV; the polyacetylenic compound preferably having at least two conjugated acetylenic linkages and containing from 12 to 60 carbon atoms. The sensitization of the film to long wavelength UV is achieved via the addition of photoinitiator(s) capable of absorbing UV energy and converting it to free radicals.
LAMINATE FILM, OUTER PACKAGING BAG FOR TRANSFUSION BAG, AND TRANSFUSION BAG PACKAGING BODY
A laminate film includes a substrate layer; and a metal oxide layer which is provided on one surface or both surfaces of the substrate layer and contains a metal oxide. Further, the oxygen permeability measured under defined conditions is 20 ml/m.sup.2.Math.day.Math.MPa or less and the water vapor permeability measured under conditions of a temperature of 40° C. and a humidity of 90% RH is 2.5 g/m.sup.2.day or greater. In addition, when the Kα beam intensity of a metal constituting the metal oxide which is obtained by performing fluorescence X-ray analysis on the metal oxide layer is set to A and the Kα beam intensity of the metal which is obtained by performing fluorescence X-ray analysis on a metal layer formed of the metal constituting the metal oxide is set to B, A/B is equal to or greater than 0.20 and equal to or less than 0.97.
BIODEGRADABLE POLYMER
A biodegradable polymer includes starch groups, a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) backbone having a crosslinked layered configuration and a Schiff base structure bonded to the starch groups. The PVA backbone has double bonds, and the starch groups have reversible acetal linkages. The biodegradable polymer is produced by mixing starch and water; mixing partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and water; mixing the starch solution with the PVA solution; mixing in a catalyst; and mixing in a cross-linking agent and a dialdehyde.

Polymer compositions may include a polymer matrix containing a polyolefin, one or more polymer particles dispersed in the polymer matrix, wherein the one or more polymer particles include a polar polymer selectively crosslinked with a crosslinking agent, and wherein the one or more polymer particles has an average particle size of up to 200 μm. Processes of preparing a polymer composition may include mixing a polyolefin, a polar polymer, and a crosslinking agent; and selectively crosslinking the polar polymer with the crosslinking agent in the presence of the polyolefin. Methods may include increasing stress cracking resistance of a polyolefin by mixing a polar polymer with the polyolefin; and selectively crosslinking the polar polymer in the presence of the polyolefin with a crosslinking agent to form crosslinked polar polymer particles dispersed in the polyolefin.
