ORGANIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
20220127452 · 2022-04-28 · ·

The present disclosure describes a composite material and a method for making the composite material. The method includes mixing a copolymer binder with a thermoplastic biopolyester polymer (TBP) at a mixing temperature of 80-280° C. to create a polymer mixture; and mixing pyrolysized organic matter and an organic filler material with the polymer mixture to create the composite material. In an embodiment, the source of the pyrolysized organic matter is post-consumer food waste, and the mixing is performed by a shear mixer that is operated at 40-100 revolutions per minute (RPM). The composite material may comprise by weight at least 35% of a combination of the pyrolysized organic matter and the organic filler material.

Fungal textile materials and leather analogs

Textile compositions comprising at least one filamentous fungus are disclosed, as are methods for making and using such textile compositions. Embodiments of the textile compositions generally include at least one of a plasticizer, a polymer, and a crosslinker, in addition to the filamentous fungus. The disclosed textile compositions are particularly useful as analogs or substitutes for conventional textile compositions, including but not limited to leather.

FILLED POLYMERIC RESIN MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MAKING

The present disclosure provides for articles formed of a filled polymeric resin material. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to polymeric resin materials that include a filler that includes of a mixture of cured rubber granules, foam granules, and/or textile fibers. The filler can be suspended in and/or encapsulated by the polymeric resin material. The polymeric resin material, the filler, or both can include waste or scrap material from manufacturing or from ground post-consumer waste.

A polymer composition may include an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) polymer at an amount ranging from 10 to 90 phr; an elastomeric EVA composition at an amount ranging from 10 to 90 phr; a plasticizer at an amount ranging from 5 to 40 phr; a blowing agent in an amount ranging from 2 to 10 phr; and a peroxide in an amount ranging from 0.3 to 4 phr.

Compositions and films comprising polylactic acid polymer, polyvinyl acetate polymer and plasticizer

A composition is described comprising semicrystalline polylactic acid polymer; polyvinyl acetate polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 25° C.; plasticizer; and optionally amorphous polylactic acid polymer. In another embodiment the composition further comprises nucleating agent. Also described are films comprising the composition as well as articles, such as a tape or sheet, comprising the film described herein and a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on the film.

Resin composition, molded article and heat-expandable microspheres

A resin composition containing heat-expandable microspheres including a thermoplastic resin shell and a thermally vaporizable blowing agent encapsulated therein and at least one base resin selected from rubbers, olefin resins and thermoplastic elastomers. The thermoplastic resin is a polymer of a polymerizable component containing N-substituted maleimide and a nitrile monomer containing methacrylonitrile. Also disclosed are molded articles manufactured by molding the resin composition.

FILMS FOR AGRICULTURAL STRUCTURES

A film for covering agricultural structures, including: a) a polymeric film having one or more layers, wherein at least one of the layers includes one or more UV stabilisers; and b) a coating on at least one outer surface of the polymeric film, the coating including at least one layer containing a polymer, such that the film has an oxygen permeability below 500 ml/m.sup.2/bar/day at 23° C. and 0% relative humidity, as measured according to EN ISO 15105-2.

Polymer film and uses of the same

A polymer film and a laminated glass manufactured using the polymer film are provided. The polymer film has a first surface and a second surface, wherein the first surface has a standard deviation of a void volume (Vv) value at a material ratio of 10% ranging from 0.5 μm.sup.3/μm.sup.2 to 2.5 μm.sup.3/μm.sup.2, and wherein the material ratio and void volume are defined in accordance with ISO 25178-2:2012.
