SILICONE HYDROGEL CONTACT LENSES HAVING NON-UNIFORM MORPHOLOGY
Described is a silicone hydrogel contact lens having non-uniform morphology. The contact lens may be made from a reactive mixture comprising: a silicone-containing component; a hydrophilic component; a non-reactive polymeric internal wetting agent; and a polymerization initiator, the contact lens having an oxygen permeability of at least about 60 barrers, and wherein the molar ratio in the lens of the polymeric non-reactive internal wetting agent to silicone, without a surface treatment, is greater in the lens's surface than in its bulk.
PACKAGING SUBSTRATE
The present invention provides a coating composition comprising a binder, a rheology modifier that acts to increase the viscosity of the coating composition and a particulate component able to remove a volatile organic compound from an environment in contact with the coating composition.
Hydrophilic Polymer Compositions
The present disclosure relates to methods for preparing a hydrophilic composition including intimately mixing a silicone component including at least one polysiloxane and a polymer component, and to hydrophobic polymer compositions prepared thereby. One aspect of the disclosure provides an article having a major exterior surface, the article comprising an intimate mixture of a silicone component including at least one polysiloxane; and a polymer component including at least one hydrophilic polymer having a water-absorption capacity of at least 50 wt. %; wherein the silicone component and the polymer component are present in the mixture in a dry weight ratio within the range of 99.9:0.1 to 30:70. In certain desirable embodiments as otherwise described herein, the intimate mixture is disposed at an exterior surface of the article, e.g., at the major exterior surface of the article.
Polymeric water-separation membrance containing sulfonated inorganic particles
The present invention relates to: a polymer composition for preparing a hydrophilic separation membrane, containing sulfonated inorganic particles, preferably, sulfonated titanium dioxide; and a hydrophilic separation membrane prepared therefrom. The hydrophilic separation membrane of the present invention has advantages of having excellent water flux and an excellent antifouling property.
ESSENTIAL OIL MICROPARTICLES FOR POWDER COATING APPLICATIONS
A composition having spherical microparticles composed primarily of polyester and one or more essential oils for use in electrostatic powder coating applications. The particles are produced by precipitation under shear stress from a solution containing the essential oils and a polyester resin.

A process for preparing a porous membrane containing a thermoplastic polymer, the process containing: (i) forming a film shaped compound containing the thermoplastic polymer and a water soluble polymer; and (ii) extracting the film shaped compound with a solvent mixture, thereby obtaining the porous membrane; wherein the thermoplastic polymer has pores with an average pore diameter <2000 nm, determined using Hg porosimetry according to DIN 66133, the thermoplastic polymer contains a polyurethane, wherein the polyurethane contains: 11 to 79% by weight of a mixture of a diol and a diisocyanate; and 21 to 89% by weight of the compound with two functional groups which are reactive towards isocyanate groups.
POLYVINYL ALCOHOL COMPOSITION, PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF, AND POLYVINYL ALCOHOL MEDICAL CATHETER CONTAINING THEREOF
The present application discloses a polyvinyl alcohol composition, as well as a preparation method and polyvinyl alcohol medical catheter containing thereof, wherein raw materials include the following components: 60-90 parts of polyvinyl alcohol; 0.1-3 parts of glutaraldehyde; and the polyvinyl alcohol composition is made by mixing the polyvinyl alcohol in molten state with the glutaraldehyde in an acidic environment.
HYDROGELS AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to hydrogels and their use for repairing or supplementing body tissue. The hydrogels are capable of safe injection into patients through fine gauge needles and are suitable for repairing, supplementing, or replacing the nucleus pulposus of an intervertebral disc. Methods of manufacturing and methods of using the hydrogels of the present disclosure to repair or replace tissues are also disclosed.
HYDROPHILIC COATINGS AND METHODS OF FORMING THE SAME
Hydrophilic coatings including a base coat layer and a top coat layer wherein at least one of the base coat and top coat compositions that form the hydrophilic coatings comprises a diacrylate compound have a number average molecular weight less than 1000.
PHOTONIC CRYSTAL STRUCTURE AND ANTI-FORGERY COLOR CONVERSION FILM COMPRISING SAME
An anti-forgery color conversion film includes a photonic crystal structure whose color is converted by an external stimulus such as a breath. The photonic crystal structure includes a first refractive index layer including a first polymer exhibiting a first refractive index; and a second refractive index layer which is alternately laminated with the first refractive index layer and includes a second polymer exhibiting a second refractive index. A consumer who purchases an article including the color conversion film may easily distinguish the authenticity of the article.
