CONDUCTIVE ROLLER
Provided is a conductive roller in which the occurrence of an image defect caused by a pressure mark is suppressed. In this conductive roller, plural resin layers are arranged on the outer circumference of a shaft 4. The resin layers include at least a base layer 1 and a surface layer 3 from the inner circumferential side. The plural resin layers all have a loss tangent (tan ) of 0.2 or less at a temperature of 40 C. and, among the plural resin layers, at least a pair of two adjacent layers satisfy a relationship of GoGi between the elastic modulus Go of a layer positioned on the outer circumferential side and the elastic modulus Gi of a layer positioned on the inner circumferential side.
DURABLE, ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE TRANSPARENT POLYURETHANE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF APPLYING SAME
A polyurethane composition suitable for coating a surface of a substrate. The polyurethane composition can include an aliphatic polyester urethane matrix and a fluorinated ionic antistatic additive. The aliphatic polyester urethane matrix can comprise an aliphatic diisocyanate, a polyester polyol having a polyester diol and a polyester triol, and sulfonated polyester urethane polyol.
Polyurethane compositions, films, and methods thereof
Provided compositions, films, and methods impart a low-surface energy surface to a polyurethane layer whereby contaminants to bead up on the surface to dramatically facilitate removal. At the same time, the provided articles retain excellent clarity and processibility for use in surface protection applications. Compositions having these advantageous properties derive from reacting a primary polyisocyanate; a monohydroxyl polydimethylsiloxane present in a suitable amount; and a polyol selected from the group consisting of: a caprolactone polyol, polycarbonate polyol, a polyester polyol, acrylic polyol, polyether polyol, polyolefin polyol, and mixtures thereof.
Method of preparing a photochromic optical article using an organic solvent pretreatment and photochromic coating
A method of preparing a photochromic optical article is provided, which includes: (i) applying a first organic solvent to a surface of an optical substrate, thereby forming an organic solvent wetted surface on the optical substrate; and (ii) applying a curable photochromic coating composition over the organic solvent wetted surface of said optical substrate, thereby forming a curable photochromic coating layer over the surface of the optical substrate. The curable photochromic coating composition includes a second organic solvent, and the first and second organic solvents are miscible with each other. With some embodiments, the first and second organic solvents are the same.
Method and thermoplastic foamed article
A method for making a low density foamed article includes placing a desired amount of thermoplastic polyurethane foam beads in a cavity of an injection mold and closing the mold; combining in an extruder connected to the mold a molten polymer selected from the group consisting of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers and thermoplastic ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers with both a physical or chemical blowing agent other than a supercritical fluid present in an amount up to about 15 wt % based on molten polymer weight and a supercritical fluid that is at least one of about 0.1 to about 5 weight percent of supercritical CO.sub.2 based on molten polymer weight or about 0.1 to about 4 weight percent of supercritical N.sub.2 based on molten polymer weight, to form a mixture and injecting the mixture into the mold and foaming the mixture to form the low density foamed article.
LAMINATED POLYESTER FILM
An object of the present invention is to provide a laminated polyester film that has good adhesion to an UV-curable resin, particularly has excellent adhesion to a coating agent such as an UV-curable ink, and has an excellent property to keep the adhesion at a high level over a long period of time. A laminated polyester film comprising: a polyester film; and a coating layer on at least one surface of the polyester film, the coating layer comprising a composition containing a polyurethane resin having a carboxyl group and having an acid value of 30 to 50 mgKOH/g and a crosslinking agent having a carboxyl group and having an acid value of 30 to 50 mgKOH/g.
Hydrofluoro Olefin Propellant in a Polyurethane Foam Composition
A process and composition is described for the inclusion of polyether polyols in concentrations greater than 10% loading on the B-side formulation with a catalyst package less than 1% loading on the B-side formulation. In one specific example, the use of glycerin as a fluorine ion scavenger is utilized to improve performance of the polyurethane systems through a twelve-month shelf life.
Low density foam, midsole, footwear, and methods for making low density foam
Foamed thermoplastic elastomeric polyurethane and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer articles are made with a combination of a supercritical fluid and a non-supercritical fluid blowing agent.
LOW TEMPERATURE CURE COATING FORMED VIA RESIN-FACILITATED CATALYST MIGRATION BETWEEN LAYERS IN A DOUBLE LAYER CURING MECHANISM
A double coating, curing method, cured coating, and kit are provided. A first layer of the double coating can be a first cure coating composition, which has a first hydroxy-functional resin, a first crosslinking agent, and a first catalyst. A second layer of a second cure coating composition can have a low hydrophilicity acrylic resin as a second hydroxy-functional resin, a second crosslinking agent, and a second catalyst. The first catalyst catalyzes crosslinking between the second hydroxy-functional resin and crosslinking agent, and not between the first hydroxy-functional resin and crosslinking agent. The second catalyst catalyzes crosslinking between the first hydroxy-functional resin and crosslinking agent, and not between the second hydroxy-functional resin and crosslinking agent. The first and/or second hydroxy functional resins can facilitate catalyst migration from one layer to the other. The separate compositions can be shelf-stable and/or the curing can occur at low temperature.
FUNCTIONALIZED POLYURETHANES POLYMERS AND FILM ARTICLES
Polyurethane polymers are described comprising polymerized units comprising a hydroxy functional aromatic group wherein the hydroxy group has been functionalized with an adhesion promoting group. In some embodiments, the polyurethane polymer comprises polymerized units have the general structure wherein L.sub.1 and L.sub.2 are independently divalent linking groups comprising an urethane group; and R.sub.A is an adhesion promoting group bonded to the oxygen atom by means of an ionic or covalent bond. In other embodiments, film articles, laminates are described and methods of making functionalized polyurethane polymers are described.
