POLYESTERS PREPARED FROM 1,1-DIESTER-1-ALKENES CONTAINING A STRONG ACID AND STABILIZER
Disclosed are compositions comprising polyesters containing a chain of residue of: diols and diesters along the chain, wherein at least a portion of the diesters are 1, 1-diester-1-alkenes, and the chains have alkene groups incorporated into the chains; the composition comprising one or more of the following: i ether groups derived from alcohols, diols, polyols, or a combination thereof obtained via Michael addition to the alkene groups and a residue of the alkene groups remaining after Michael addition; ii the formed polyesters contain one percent or less of residual 1, 1-diester-1-alkene which are unreacted; iii one or more free radical inhibitors; and iv a stabilizer comprising one or more of: oxo acids phosphorous or esters thereof, aluminum sulfate, stannous pyrophosphate, stannous sulfate, aluminum dihydrogenphosphate or decomposition products thereof. The stabilizer is present in an amount sufficient to enhance stability of the polyester without lowering reactivity of the polyester.
AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION
The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide an aqueous coating composition that can form a multilayer coating film having excellent storage stability, excellent adhesion to plastic base materials, excellent finish, and excellent coating film performance, such as water resistance; and to also provide a coating method using the composition. The present invention provides an aqueous coating composition comprising (A) an aqueous dispersion of a modified polyolefin, (B) an aqueous acrylic resin and/or an aqueous polyester resin, and (C) a phosphoric acid compound represented by a specific formula; and also provides a method for forming a coating film, comprising applying the aqueous coating composition, as well as an article coated with the aqueous coating composition.
Thermoplastic molding composition and articles made thereof having improved surface quality
The present invention relates to a process for producing a thermoplastic molding composition and articles made thereof having improved surface quality, in particular improved surface quality after exposure to warm-humid environmental conditions. The thermoplastic molding composition comprises a thermoplastic polymer A, a graft copolymer B obtained by emulsion graft polymerization and optionally a further polymer component P, as well as optional further components/additives K, wherein at least one crystallization additive C, selected from phosphate compounds having 1 to 25 phosphate units, organic acids and salts thereof, is added during or after the preparation of the graft copolymer B.
Curable resin composition and optical semiconductor device
A curable resin composition having high transparency in the UV region, UV resistance and heat resistance. The curable resin composition includes an alkoxy oligomer represented by Formula 1 of (R.sup.1R.sup.2R.sup.3SiO.sub.1/2).sub.w(R.sup.4R.sup.5SiO.sub.2/2).sub.x(R.sup.6SiO.sub.3/2).sub.y(SiO.sub.4/2).sub.z and a curing catalyst. The curing catalyst is phosphoric acid present in an amount of 3-30 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the alkoxy oligomer, or alkoxide of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of B, Al, P, Sc, Ga, Y, Zr, Nb, In, Sn, La, Gd, Dy, Yb, Hf, Ta and W, present in an amount of 0.5-20 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the alkoxy oligomer. Each of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 independently represents the same or a different organic group, w, x, y and z are 0 or positive numbers satisfying the relationship of w+x+y+z=1, and the atomic ratio of O/Si is 2.3-3.5.
Curable resin composition and optical semiconductor device
A curable resin composition having high transparency in the UV region, UV resistance and heat resistance. The curable resin composition includes an alkoxy oligomer represented by Formula 1 of (R.sup.1R.sup.2R.sup.3SiO.sub.1/2).sub.w(R.sup.4R.sup.5SiO.sub.2/2).sub.x(R.sup.6SiO.sub.3/2).sub.y(SiO.sub.4/2).sub.z and a curing catalyst. The curing catalyst is phosphoric acid present in an amount of 3-30 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the alkoxy oligomer, or alkoxide of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of B, Al, P, Sc, Ga, Y, Zr, Nb, In, Sn, La, Gd, Dy, Yb, Hf, Ta and W, present in an amount of 0.5-20 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the alkoxy oligomer. Each of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 independently represents the same or a different organic group, w, x, y and z are 0 or positive numbers satisfying the relationship of w+x+y+z=1, and the atomic ratio of O/Si is 2.3-3.5.
FLAME RETARDANT LONG GLASS FIBRE REINFORCED POLYPROPYLENE COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to pellets of a flame retardant long glass fibre reinforced polypropylene composition having a core containing glass fibres and a sheath of a polypropylene compound comprising a flame retardant composition and surrounding said core, wherein the flame retardant composition comprises a mixture of an organic phosphate compound, an organic phosphoric acid compound and zinc oxide. The invention further relates to flame retardant moulding compositions and articles manufactured using the pellets or the moulding compositions.
EPOXY PHOSPHATE ESTER
Provided is a composition comprising one or more epoxy phosphate esters wherein the structure comprises two or more polyester linkages. Also provided is a method of making the epoxy phosphate esters that comprises reacting one or more epoxy-terminated polyesters with one or more phosphoric acids. Further provided is an adhesive composition that comprises one or more epoxy phosphate esters, one or more multifunctional isocyanate prepolymers, and one or more multifunctional isocyanate-reactive compounds.
Flame retardant polyamide
A composition contains at least a copolyamide (PA-1) as a component (I), produced by polymerization of at least one lactam and of a monomer mixture (M) which contains at least a C.sub.32-C.sub.40 dimer acid and at least a C.sub.4-C.sub.12 diamine; and a flame retardant (F1) as a component (II). The flame retardant (F1) is selected from melamine cyanurates, magnesium hydroxide, and phosphorus-containing flame retardants. A process can be used for preparing such compositions, and the composition can be used for producing shaped articles.
POLYESTER COMPOSITION AND ARTICLE PREPARED THEREFROM
A composition includes 100 parts by weight of poly(alkylene terephthalate) and 0.01 to 2 part by weight of a compound represented by Formula (1), a partially saponified derivative thereof, or a combination thereof, (1) wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and n are defined herein. The composition, which excludes copolymers of an unsubstituted or substituted styrene and an unsaturated nitrile, is useful for molding articles with very smooth surfaces. For example, the composition can be used to mold directly-metallizable substrates for automotive headlight reflectors and bezels.

Additive for hydraulically setting compounds
The present invention relates to an additive for hydraulically setting compositions, comprising a colloidally disperse preparation of at least one water-soluble salt of a polyvalent metal cation, at least one compound capable of releasing an anion which forms a sparingly soluble salt with the polyvalent metal cation, and at least one polymeric dispersant which comprises anionic and/or anionogenic groups and polyether side chains.
