Regioselectively substituted cellulose esters and films made therefrom

Regioselectively substituted cellulose esters having a plurality of pivaloyl substituents and a plurality of aryl-acyl substituents are disclosed along with methods for making the same. Such cellulose esters may be suitable for use in films, such as +A optical films, and/or +C optical films. Optical films prepared employing such cellulose esters have a variety of commercial applications, such as, for example, as compensation films in liquid crystal displays and/or waveplates in creating circular polarized light used in 3-D technology.

Resin composition and resin molded product

A resin composition includes a cellulose acylate (A); and an aromatic compound (B) not containing a functional group that reacts with the cellulose acylate (A), but containing a long-chain aliphatic group and at least one of a phenolic hydroxy group and a monoglycidyl ether group directly bonded to an aromatic group of the aromatic compound (B), in which a mass ratio (B)/(A) of the aromatic compound (B) to the cellulose acylate (A) is 0.15 or more.

WAVELENGTH-CONTROLLABLE CELLULOSE IRIDESCENT FILM AND METHOD FOR PREPARATION THEREOF

The present invention belongs to the technical field of functional film materials; disclosed are a wavelength-controllable cellulose iridescent film and a method for preparation thereof. The method is: (1) mixing well a cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) suspension with lactic acid solution and glucose solution to obtain a CNC/lactic acid/glucose mixed solution; said CNC suspension being a cellulose nanocrystal suspension; (2) drying the CNC/lactic acid/glucose mixed solution to form a film to obtain a cellulose iridescent film. The method of the present invention is simple and low in cost. In the present invention, by means of the addition of lactic acid and glucose, the prepared film has iridescent film characteristics; the wavelength of the iridescent film is within the range of visible light, and the wavelengths of different colors of iridescent film are controllable.
