ARTICLE OF MANUFACTURE CONTAINING A STARCH-CONVERTED MATERIAL
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a modified-starch, said starch being modified with an anhydride of a polyacid, said modified-starch having a pH of below 4.5.
Molded Article and Method for Production Thereof
Disclosed is a molded article including a modified fibroin and a water resistance-imparting material. The modified fibroin and the water resistance-imparting material may be covalently bonded.
Gypsum composition comprising uncooked starch having mid-range viscosity, and methods and products related thereto
Disclosed are product (e.g., board), slurry, and methods relating to an uncooked starch that can be used to enhance strength in one or more gypsum layers in the board. The uncooked starch has a hot water viscosity of from about 20 BU to about 300 BU according to the HWVA method, and/or a mid-range peak viscosity of from about 120 Brabender Units to about 1000 Brabender Units.
Preparation Method Of Oxidized Anticoagulant Starch Adhesive
The present invention provides a preparation method of an oxidized anticoagulant starch adhesive, comprising the following steps: (1) an original starch and deionized water are mixed to form a starch emulsion, then the pH is adjusted to perform an oxidation reaction; a reductant is added to react with the unreacted oxidant, after the reaction is completed, an esterifying agent is added to perform an esterification reaction after adjusting pH; then a product is neutralized, washed, filtered and dried to obtain starch granules; and (2) a 40-50% starch emulsion is formulated by using the starch granules obtained in the step (1), the pH is adjusted to 6.5-7.5 after gelatinization, and dispersing agent, defoamer and water are added to form a starch adhesive. The esterifying agent used is composed of an anion and a cation, which significantly improves anticoagulant effect of the starch adhesive.
STARCH WITH HIGH DIETARY FIBER CONTENT SUITABLY USABLE IN FOODS AND BEVERAGES
The present invention provides a starch with high dietary fiber content that does not deteriorate texture or flavor when added to a food. Provided is a phosphoric acid crosslinked starch obtained by subjecting a starting starch material to a phosphoric acid crosslinking treatment, wherein: when suspended in water to give a concentration of 7% by weight on the anhydrous basis, the starting starch material shows a gelatinization starting temperature of 80 C. or lower; in the phosphoric acid crosslinked starch, 70% by volume or more of particles have a particle diameter of 18-35 m; and the content of dietary fiber in the phosphoric acid crosslinked starch is 50% by weight or greater. The phosphoric acid crosslinked starch according to the present invention is useful in manufacturing compositions for dietary fiber enrichment, foods for restricting carbohydrate intake or low calorie foods.
RESIN COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Provided is a resin composition comprising a starch and a polyvinyl alcohol, which is excellent in the breaking strength and breaking elongation at a low temperature, and at the same time, has the good gas barrier property. The resin composition comprises modified starch and polyvinyl alcohol, and where in a cross section photograph by a transmission electron microscope, a cross-sectional area of each of particles of the polyvinyl alcohol dispersed is calculated, and a cross-sectional shape of each of the particles of the polyvinyl alcohol is postulated to be circular based on the cross-sectional area, the particles of the polyvinyl alcohol have a conversion particle diameter of 50 to 300 nm, and the conversion particle diameter has a dispersity of 3.0 or less.
