Thioacetate functionalized isobutylene-based polymers and curable compositions containing the same

Provided herein are thioacetate isobutylene-based polymer compositions comprising thioalkylated functionalized polymer, and a sulfur donor and/or accelerator cure system. The thioalkylated functionalized polymer is produced via nucleophilic substitution reaction in solution. The present thioacetate functionalized isobutylene-based polymer compositions together with various accelerators and sulfur donors can form thermosets useful for pharmaceutical and tire applications without the use of zinc or a zinc oxide activator.

Inhibiting fouling tendency in high coal ash-containing water systems

Dispersions of coal ash in water can be inhibited or prevented from scaling and simultaneously be inhibited or prevented from fouling by introducing thereto an additive blend that includes an anionic water-soluble polymer and a second polymer different from the anionic water-soluble polymer, where the second polymer is selected from the group consisting of copolymers and terpolymers having a plurality of hydrophobic groups.

Polyolefin Grafted Polydiene Polymers, And Methods Of Making And Using Same

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to polyolefm grafted polydiene polymers, wherein the polyolefin grafted polydiene polymers comprises a polydiene having a polydiene polymer backbone, a polyolefm, and at least one sulfur containing functionalizing agent which grafts the polyolefin onto at least one non-terminal position on the polydiene polymer backbone.

Polyphenylene sulfide fiber

A poly(phenylene sulfide) fiber changes little in fiber structure and has excellent long-term heat resistance. Namely, the poly(phenylene sulfide) fiber has a degree of crystallization of 45.0% or higher, a content of movable amorphous components of 15.0% or less, and a weight-average molecular weight of 300,000 or less.
