Provided is an antistatic agent (Z) containing: a block polymer (A) having a block of a hydrophobic polymer (a) and a block of a hydrophilic polymer (b) as structure units; and a sulfonate (S), the sulfonate (S) being a salt of an alkylbenzenesulfonic acid anion which has a C6-C18 alkyl group, the sulfonate (S) including at least two alkylbenzenesulfonates different in the number of carbon atoms of the alkyl group in the anion, the sulfonate (S) satisfying the following formula:
0.40≤W(n)/[W(n−1)+W(n)+W(n+1)]≤0.90
wherein n is the number of carbon atoms of the alkyl group in the anion of an alkylbenzenesulfonate accounting for the highest proportion by weight in the sulfonate (S); W(n) is a weight of said alkylbenzenesulfonate; and W(n−1) and W(n+1) are respectively a weight of an alkylbenzenesulfonate containing an anion having an alkyl group with (n−1) carbon atoms and a weight of an alkylbenzenesulfonate containing an anion having an alkyl group with (n+1) carbon atoms.

High stiff thermoplastic compositions for thin-wall structures

A thermoplastic composition includes: from about 29 wt % to about 49 wt % of a thermoplastic polymer component including a first thermoplastic polymer consisting of polybutylene terephthalate and a second thermoplastic polymer consisting of polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate, copolymers thereof, or a combination thereof; from about 1 wt % to about 30 wt % of a component comprising a polyester elastomer, an ethylene/alkyl acrylate/glycidyl methacrylate terpolymer compatibilizer, or a combination thereof; and from about 50 wt % to about 70 wt % of a ceramic fiber component including ceramic fibers. The first thermoplastic polymer is present the composition in a ratio of at least 2:1 as compared to the second thermoplastic polymer. Articles including the thermoplastic composition are also described.

The present invention is a polyester elastomer resin composition that has excellent extrusion moldability and surface smoothness even in a thin shape, while maintaining mechanical characteristics, and that is halogen-free and has excellent flame retardancy as well as heat aging resistance and hydrolysis resistance. The polyester elastomer resin composition comprises a polyester elastomer (A) and a phosphorus flame retardant (B); the polyester elastomer (A) comprises a hard segment composed of a polyester and at least one soft segment selected from aliphatic polyethers, aliphatic polyesters, and aliphatic polycarbonates, and has a Shore D surface hardness of 55 or less; the phosphorus flame retardant (B) has an average particle size D50 of 20 μm or less and a phosphorus concentration of 15 mass % or more; and the polyester elastomer resin composition comprises 5 to 50 parts by mass of the phosphorus flame retardant (B) and optionally a predetermined amount of an acid end capping agent (C) based on 100 parts by mass of the polyester elastomer (A), and has an acid value of 10 eq/ton or less.

A breathable and waterproof membrane is made from a modified thermoplastic polyester elastomer. The breathable and waterproof membrane has a moisture permeability of greater than or equal to 25000 g/m.sup.2.Math.day. The modified thermoplastic polyester elastomer is formed from a thermoplastic polyester elastomer, a regenerated polyethylene terephthalate, and a compatibilizer. Based on a total weight of the modified thermoplastic polyester elastomer being 100 phr, a content of the regenerated polyethylene terephthalate is greater than 0 phr and up to 50 phr. Based on a total weight of the thermoplastic polyester elastomer being 100 wt %, the thermoplastic polyester elastomer includes 25 wt % to 75 wt % of hard segments and 25 wt % to 75 wt % of soft segments.
