PET polymer with improved properties
Polyester compositions having desirable injection molding properties and that retain good crystallization rates and natural stretch ratio characteristics are described. These polyesters are suitable for the manufacture of beverage containers, bulk continuous filaments, and other articles that can benefit from such improved properties.

A polyester resin composition for a vibration-damping material, containing a thermoplastic polyester resin constituted of a dicarboxylic acid component and a diol component (A), one or more members selected from the group consisting of plasticizers and styrene-isoprene block copolymers (B), and an inorganic filler (C). The polyester resin composition of the present invention can be suitably used as a vibration-damping material for a material for audio equipment such as, for example, speakers, television, radio cassette players, headphones, audio components, or microphones, and manufactured articles such as electric appliances, transportation vehicles, construction buildings, and industrial equipment, or parts or housing thereof.

Molded articles having a swirl-like or marble-like appearance and compositions for producing same
Polymer compositions are described that contain at least two different immiscible phases for producing molded articles having a swirl-like or marble-like appearance. The first phase, for instance, may contain one or more polyoxymethylene polymers. The second phase, on the other hand, contains one or more polymers that together have a melting point that is from about 5° to about 30° different than the melting point of the polyoxymethylene polymer. In one embodiment, the second phase may contain a thermoplastic elastomer, a glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate, or a polyimide and may have a melting point that is higher than the melting point of the polyoxymethylene polymer. The second phase is present in the polymer composition in relatively low amounts, such as in amounts less than about 5% by weight. The second phase can contain a high concentration of colorants that creates a contrast of colors when the molded article is produced.

The present disclosure relates to masterbatch compositions used for preparing articles, preforms or containers comprising a base polyester, a transition metal-based oxidation catalyst, an alkali metal compound, and an alkaline earth metal compound. The masterbatch compositions have desirable viscosity characteristics and the prepared articles, preforms or containers using these masterbatch compositions have desirable mechanical, visual and gas barrier properties.

Thermoplastic Resin Composition and Molded Product Produced Therefrom
A thermoplastic resin composition of the present invention comprises: about 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin including a polyester resin; about 50-150 parts by weight of glass fibers; and about 1-10 parts by weight of a polyether-ester copolymer, wherein the polyether-ester copolymer has a melt volume flow rate (MVR) of about 30-120 cm.sup.3/10 min as measured under conditions of 230° C. and 2.16 kg based on ISO 1133. The thermoplastic resin composition is excellent in impact resistance, appearance characteristics, metal joining properties, and the like.
