NON-POLYMERIC COUPLING AGENT FORMULATIONS FOR WOOD POLYMER COMPOSITES

Non-polymeric coupling agent formulation for producing wood-polymer composites include at least one organic peroxide and a non-polymeric bio-based additive that includes at least one of a bio-based oil or a bio-based acid or derivatives of bio-based oils or acid is provided. The coupling agent formulations are capable of producing polymer matrix composites having improved strength and aging characteristics. The improved strength may be related to physical properties such as improved stiffness, toughness or tensile strength. A masterbatch utilizing the non-polymeric coupling agent formulation is provided, as well as a method making the masterbatch.

Low coefficient of friction ethylene-based compositions

The present disclosure provides a composition containing a polymeric blend. The polymeric blend contains (A) from 50 wt % to 90 wt % of a first ethylene-based polymer having a density from 0.895 g/cc to 0.905 g/cc; and a melt index from 0.1 g/10 min to 50 g/10 min; (B) from 8 wt % to 48 wt % of a second ethylene-based polymer having a density from 0.935 g/cc to 0.967 g/cc; and a melt index from 0.1 g/10 min to 180 g/10 min; and from 0.01 wt % to 2.0 wt % of a slip agent, based on the total weight of the polymeric blend. The polymeric blend has (i) an overall density from 0.900 g/cc to 0.925 g/cc; and (ii) a coefficient of friction (COF) after aging for 1 week at 60° C. from 0.001 to 0.400. The present disclosure also provides a multilayer film with a first layer containing the composition.

Polyethylene formulations and articles produced therefrom, comprise a multimodal high density polyethylene (HDPE) composition, and 0.1 ppm to 300 ppm of a nucleating agent, wherein the multimodal HDPE composition comprises a density of 0.940 g/cm.sup.3 to 0.970 g/cm.sup.3 when measured according to ASTM D792, and a melt index (I.sub.2) of 0.1 g/10 min. to 10.0 g/10 min. when measured according to ASTM D1238 at 190° C. and a 2.16 kg load, and wherein the multimodal HDPE composition comprises an infrared cumulative detector fraction (CDF.sub.IR) of greater than 0.27 and an infrared cumulative detector fraction to light scattering cumulative detector fraction ratio (CDF.sub.IR/CDF.sub.LS) from 0.7 to 2.0.

The present invention relates to a water-, oil- and grease-resistant multilayer coating for a paper-based substrate comprising a water-based inner primer coating, an intermediate polymeric extrusion coating, and a water-based top barrier coating, wherein a surface of the paper-based substrate coated therewith has water, oil and grease barrier properties, and wherein the paper-based substrate coated therewith is repulpable and recyclable.

ETHYLENE POLYMER BLEND COMPOSITION FOR ADDITIVE-MANUFACTURE FEEDSTOCK

The invention relates to an additive-manufacture feedstock, comprising an ethylene polymer blend composition having an ethylene polymer having a melt flow index of from 0.1 to 150 g/10 min (190° C./2.16 kg), measured according to ASTM D 1238, and at least one of the following components blended in the ethylene polymer: a polyolefin elastomer, an ethylene-vinyl ester polymer, a fiber, a nucleator or clarifier, or a polypropylene polymer. The additive-manufacture feedstock, when in the form of a printed article, exhibits an improved printability characterized by an improved warpage-resistance rating. The invention also relates to methods of making the additive-manufacture feedstock and methods of 3D printing or additive manufacturing using the additive-manufacture feedstock in various forms.
