POLYMER COMPOSITION HAVING FLAME RETARDANT PROPERTIES

A composition having flame retardant properties comprising a polymeric material and a bauxite as flame retardant filler dispersed in the polymeric material, wherein the bauxite has an aluminum hydroxide content of at least 50% by weight and is in the form of particles having an average size (d.sub.50) not higher than 8.0 ?m and a specific surface area (BET) not higher than 10.0 m.sup.2/g. These compositions provide excellent performance in terms of both self-extinguishing and mechanical properties, in particular elongation at break. Such compositions may be used to produce cable jackets for the transport or distribution of electrical energy and/or for telecommunications, panels and coverings for buildings, pipes, and the like.

SEMICONDUCTIVE POLYETHYLENE COMPOSITION

Thermoplastic polyolefin with reduced gloss for non-carpeted flooring

The present invention is directed to an elastomer composition comprising an ethylene/-olefin/diene modified interpolymer, a very low density polyethylene component, and a propylene polymer component, wherein the propylene polymer component comprises at least one branched polypropylene. The inventive compositions are particularly suitable for fabricating thermoformed non-carpet automotive flooring.

COMPATIBILISED POLYOLEFIN AND POLYCARBONATE COMPOSITION

The present invention relates to a composition comprising a polyolefin, polycarbonate and a compatibiliser, articles made therefrom and the use of a graft or block copolymer as a compatibiliser.

MULTI REACTOR SOLUTION POLYMERIZATION, POLYETHYLENE AND POLYETHYLENE FILM

This disclosure relates to a continuous solution three reactor polymerization process. Process solvent, ethylene, optional comonomers, optional hydrogen and a single site catalyst system are injected into a first and second reactor configured in parallel to one another. A third reactor receives effluent from the first reactor, the second reactor, or a combination of the first and second reactors. Fresh monomer is feed to the third reactor for further polymerization and to give a final polyethylene product.
