STEROL BLENDS AS AN ADDITIVE IN ASPHALT BINDER
Disclosed are asphalt binder compositions and methods for making such compositions with pure sterol:crude sterol blends. The sterol blends improve various rheological properties.
Reclaimed asphalt composition and methods of making and using same
A method of forming a paving composition using reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and/or reclaimed asphalt shingle (RAS) is provided. The method comprises: a) providing a rejuvenated asphalt binder consisting essentially of bitumen, a block copolymer and a bio-oil, wherein the rejuvenated asphalt binder has a rotational viscosity at 135 C. equal to or less than 1000 centipoise, an original G*/sin at 64 C. equal to or greater than 1 kPa where G* is the complex shear modulus and is the phase angle; a G*/sin at 64 C. equal to or greater than 2.2 kPa after aging in a Rolling Thin Film Oven (RTFO); b) providing a virgin asphalt; c) heating the virgin asphalt to 160-200 C.; d) providing a RAP and/or RAS; and e) mixing the heated virgin asphalt, RAP/RAS, and the rejuvenated asphalt binder under conditions suitable to form the paving composition.
ASPHALT EMULSION SURFACE TREATMENT CONTAINING STEROL
Pavement aging can be reduced by applying to an asphalt-containing pavement a topcoat layer or a surface treatment containing asphalt binder emulsion with sterols.
NON-ASPHALTIC COATINGS, NON-ASPHALTIC ROOFING MATERIALS, AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF
This invention, in embodiments, relates to non-asphaltic coatings for roofing materials, to roofing materials made therefrom and to methods of preparing such coatings and roofing materials. By blending thermoplastic polymers with appropriate fillers and/or recycled materials, a composition is produced that can be pressed into a desired shape, or that can be additionally mixed with oils, resins and/or waxes to provide a liquid that can be poured onto an appropriate substrate.
Sterol blends as an additive in asphalt binder
Asphalt binder compositions and methods for making such compositions with pure sterol:crude sterol blends. The sterol blends improve various rheological properties.
Asphalt modification with recycled plastic and crumb rubber for paving, roofing, waterproofing and damp proofing
An asphalt composition has a modified asphalt binder. The modified asphalt binder includes an initial binder, an elemental sulfur, a recycled plastic, and a crumb rubber, the crumb rubber including a recycled material. The recycled plastic and the crumb rubber together define a binder modifier. The binder modifier and the initial binder together define an intermediate binder. The elemental sulfur is in an amount of 30 to 50 weight percent, by weight of the modified asphalt binder. The crumb rubber is in an amount of 10 to 20 weight percent, by weight of the intermediate binder.
BIOMAG BASED EMULSION FOR COLD-IN-PLACE APPLICATIONS
The present application is directed to an asphalt pavement product comprising: a reclaimed asphalt pavement product (RAP); and an emulsified product mixed with the RAP, said emulsified product comprising: water; one or more surfactants; one or more stabilizers; one or more polymers; and one or more compounds of formula (I):
##STR00001##
wherein R and A are as described herein. The present application is also directed to methods of paving a road course using the emulsified product.
