The purpose is to provide rubber compositions and pneumatic tires which have reduced changes in hardness over time. The present invention relates to a rubber composition containing a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing an aromatic vinyl compound and a conjugated diene compound, the rubber composition having a heat aging resistance index defined by equation (1) of 10 or less.

A rubber composition for a torsional damper has (A) a minimum value of tan δ at −30° C. to 120° C. of 0.140 or more, (B) a ratio of tan δ at −30° C. to tan δ at 60° C. of 3.5 or less, and (C) a ratio of E′ at −30° C. to E′ at 60° C. of 21 or less.

Polyenes for curable liquid rubber-based compositions

A curable liquid rubber composition including at least one liquid polyene component and at least one heat activated crosslinking agent. The liquid polyene component may be a single polyene or a blend of polyenes. In one embodiment, the liquid polyene component may contain on a molar basis, at least one monomer that results in at least 45 molar percent of C2-C13 pendant groups. In another embodiment, the liquid polyene component may contain on a molar basis at least one monomer that results in at least 20 molar percent of C2-C5 pendant groups, and at least one monomer that results in at least 7 molar percent of C6-C13 pendant groups. After curing, the liquid rubber composition may have a loss factor greater than 0.51, a maximum loss factor temperature greater than −10° C., and a swelling ratio in toluene from 40% to 170% by weight.

Provided is a rubber composition for a tire having excellent performance on snow, wet grip performance, and forming processability, while containing a large amount of silica. The rubber composition contains: in 100 parts by mass of a diene rubber containing from 25 to 50 mass % of a butadiene rubber, 50 parts by mass or more of a plasticizer component; from 120 to 180 parts by mass of silica; M.sub.1 parts by mass of 3-octanoylthio-1-propyltriethoxysilane; and M.sub.2 parts by mass of alkylsilane. (M.sub.1+M.sub.2), a total of the 3-octanoylthio-1-propyltriethoxysilane and the alkylsilane, is from 5 to 10 mass % with respect to the mass of the silica, and [M.sub.2/(M.sub.1+M.sub.2)], a ratio of the alkylsilane with respect to the total of the 3-octanoylthio-1-propyltriethoxysilane and the alkylsilane, is from 0.10 to 0.40.

Disclosed are a liquid hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene rubber, a preparation method therefor and the use thereof. In the liquid hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene rubber: the content of acrylonitrile is 15-50%; the hydrogenation saturation is 75-99.5%; the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) is 3,000-60,000; the molecular weight polydispersity index (PDI) is 2.0-8.0; and the glass transition temperature (Tg) is lower than −28° C. The liquid hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene rubber is low in molecular weight and wide in molecular weight polydispersity, simultaneously has an excellent fluidity during processing and excellent mechanical properties after curing and has a unique application value in the field of special rubbers; and the preparation method therefor is simple and feasible in terms of the process.

ELASTOMER COMPOSITION

A composition based on triblock copolymers of the ABA type, including two styrene thermoplastic terminal blocks A, and an elastomer central block B which is a saturated olefin, and at least one polyisobutene having a very low molecular weight and optionally a diblock copolymer of AB. The present composition exhibits advantageous properties which are similar to those of silicone elastomers. Also, a dressing including such an elastomeric composition.

A pneumatic tire includes a rubber composition for a tire, where the rubber composition contains, per 100 parts by mass of a diene rubber containing from 50 to 70 mass % of a styrene-butadiene rubber having a weight average molecular weight of 800,000 or greater and from 30 to 50 mass % of a butadiene rubber, from 100 to 150 parts by mass of silica, from 10 to 20 parts by mass of a low molecular weight butadiene rubber having a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 or more and 50,000 or less, from 2 to 9 parts by mass of a thermoplastic resin, and a plasticizer, and a total of the low molecular weight butadiene rubber and the plasticizer is from 40 to 70 parts by mass.

Oil mist inhibitor, lubricant containing same, and oil mist reduction method

An oil containing an oil mist suppressant is provided herein. The oil can be a fiber treatment oil, spinning oil, or textile treatment oil. The oil mist suppressant suppresses the formation of oil mist from the oil during treatment using the oil. In general, the oil mist suppressant will not inhibit the purpose and effects of the oil treatment. A method of reducing oil mist using the oil mist suppressant is also provided herein. The oil mist suppressant is constituted by a silicone fluid composition. The silicone fluid composition is homogeneously miscible with a dimethylpolysiloxane oil having a kinematic viscosity of 10.0 mm.sup.2/s at 25° C. The silicone fluid composition also has the property of increasing the maximum lamellar length of the dimethylpolysiloxane oil by at least 5% when 1.0% by mass of the silicone fluid composition is added thereto.
