ASPHALT COMPOSITION

An asphalt composition containing asphalt and polyester, wherein a content of asphaltene in the asphalt is 18% by mass or more and 40% by mass or less, and a content of the polyester is 1 part by mass or more and 10 parts by mass or less with respect to 100 parts by mass of the asphalt.

STRAIN TOLERANT RECYCLED ASPHALT PAVEMENT COMPOSITION

A strain tolerant recycled bitumen pavement composition comprising aggregate, recycled bitumen, and a specialized polymer modified bitumen. The specialized polymer modified bitumen may comprise bitumen and polymer, where the polymer comprises a preponderance of butadiene. The amount of recycled bitumen in the composition may be greater than 5% of the composition. Such high levels of recycled bitumen in a pavement composition, while desirable both economically and environmentally, typically produces layers with poor strain tolerance. The strain tolerance of the layer produced with the composition of the present invention, however, may be significantly higher due to the inclusion of the specialized polymer modified bitumen.

Block copolymer composition, method of preparing the same, and asphalt composition including the same

Provided is a block copolymer composition, and more particularly, a block copolymer composition including a diblock copolymer and a triblock copolymer. The diblock copolymer includes a first block containing a first conjugated diene-based monomer-derived repeating unit and a second block containing a first vinyl aromatic monomer-derived repeating unit, and a functional group derived from a modified initiator represented by the Chemical Formula 1 (see description of the invention) is included at one end of the diblock copolymer. A method of preparing the same, and an asphalt composition including the same, are provided.

An asphalt-based sealcoat composition comprising high levels of titanium oxide particles is provided. In some embodiments, a highly solar reflective asphalt-based sealcoat composition comprising high levels of titanium oxide particles is provided. In some embodiments, an asphalt-based sealcoat composition capable of reducing pollutants comprising high levels of titanium oxide particles is provided. In some embodiments, methods for preparing asphalt-based sealcoat compositions as well as their application to asphalt surfaces is provided.

SPREADING CATIONIC EMULSION

The present disclosure relates to the field of so-called “spreading” emulsions of hydrocarbon binder, in particular cationic emulsions of hydrocarbon binders. Such emulsions are useful in the preparation of surface dressings, tack coats, fog seal type surface courses and paver seams. The use of an anionic polymer to improve immediate adhesiveness of a cationic emulsion of hydrocarbon binder to solid particles is particularly described.

A bituminous composition includes at least one bitumen base, at least one first chemical additive chosen from compounds of general formula Ar1-R.sub.1-Ar.sub.2 (I), and at least one second chemical additive chosen from a second chemical additive chosen from the reaction products of at least one C.sub.3-C.sub.12 polyol and of at least one C.sub.2-C.sub.12 aldehyde. This composition can be used for different industrial applications and as road binder, notably for the preparation of bituminous mixes.

WARM MIX ASPHALT BINDER COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING LUBRICATING ADDITIVES

The present invention provides a functionally dry warm mix asphalt binder composition modified with lubricating agents or additives that can be mixed with aggregate and compacted at temperatures substantially below asphalt binder compositions that do not contain the disclosed lubricating additives.

ASPHALT COMPOSITION COMPRISING A MIXTURE OF AN ISOCYANATE AND A PLASTICIZER AS PERFORMANCEADDITIVES

An asphalt composition comprising 0.1 to 8 wt.-% based on the total weight of the composition of an Isocyanate as thermosetting reactive compound and 0.1 to 8 wt.-% based on the total weight of the composition of a plasticizer selected from the group consisting of orthophthalates, terephthalates, cyclohexanoates, azelates, actetates, butyrates, valeriates, alkylsulfonates, adipates, benzoates, dibenzoates, citrates, maleates, phosphates, sebacates, sulfonamides, epoxy es-ters, trimellitates, glycerol esters, succinates, mineral oils and polymeric plasticizers or mixtures thereof, wherein the polymeric plasticizer is selected from the group consisting of Hexanedioic acid polymer with 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediol and 1,2-propanediol isononyl ester, Hexanedioic acid polymer with 1,2-propanediol octyl ester and Hexanedioic acid polymer with 1,2-propanediol acetate or mixtures thereof.
