Poly(acrylated polyol) and method for making and using thereof as asphalt rubber modifiers, adhesives, fracking additives, or fracking fluids
The present invention relates to a thermoplastic copolymer, block copolymer, and statistical copolymer comprising plural acrylated polyol monomeric units having different degrees of acrylation of hydroxyl groups. The acrylated polyol monomeric units have an average degree of acrylation greater than 1 and less than the number of the hydroxyl groups of the polyol. The present invention also relates to a method of making the thermoplastic copolymer, block copolymer, and statistical copolymer, and using them in various applications, such as asphalt rubber modifiers, adhesives, or an additive in a fracking fluid for oil fracking.
Method for producing rubber-modified bitumen using vulcanized rubber
The present invention provides a novel process for producing rubber-modified bitumen using vulcanized rubber.
ADDITIVE COMPOSITION FOR BITUMINOUS CONGLOMERATES WITH HIGH MECHANICAL PERFORMANCES
Additive composition intended to be mixed into bituminous conglomerates for road paving, comprising a thermoplastic polymer, a polymeric compound selected from the group consisting of polyvinylbutyral (PVB), polyethylacrylate (PEA) polymethylacrylate (PMA), polybutylacrilate (PBA), lignin and mixtures thereof, and graphene, preferably wherein the graphene is contained in quantity between 0.005 and 1% by weight based on the total weight of the composition; it is also described a bituminous conglomerate suitable for making a road paving, comprising aggregates, a filler, bitumen and the additive.
RECYCLED ASPHALT COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS THEREOF
A pavement composition includes a recycled hot mix asphalt (HMA) sheet mix composition including more than 50% and up to 100% recycled fines mixed with a rejuvenating agent. The recycled fines of the HMA sheet mix are separated from a reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) composition and substantially all of the recycled fines are capable of passing through a sieve having an opening size of inch (9.5 mm). Pavement systems include an existing pavement layer and a thin-lift overlay made of the recycled HMA sheet mix on the existing pavement layer. Pavement systems also include a three-layer system including a leveling course layer, an interlayer, and a surface course layer in which the leveling course layer and/or the surface course layer include a recycled HMA sheet mix composition.
BINDER COMPOSITION FOR IMPROVED TACK COAT AND STRESS ABSORBING MEMBRANE INTERLAYER APPLICATION FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION
A binder composition for asphalt pavements that includes: an asphalt binder; an elastomeric polymer; a wax modifier; and optionally at least one of: i) fumed silica or fumed alumina; and ii) a saponified fatty acid and a resin acid gelling compound. The composition is applied as a tack coat and/or a stress absorbing membrane interlayer and is non-tracking.
FAST DRYING ASPHALT COMPOSITIONS WITH IMPROVED PERFORMANCE AT LOWER ASPHALT RESIDUE
Disclosed herein are asphalt compositions. In some embodiments, the asphalt compositions can include asphalt, a polymer, and a basic salt such as aluminum sulfate. In some embodiments, the asphalt compositions can include asphalt, a polymer, and an inorganic acid such as phosphoric acid. The asphalt compositions can include asphalt in an amount of from 50 wt % to 99.9 wt %, based on the weight of the asphalt composition. In some embodiments, the asphalt compositions can include a styrene-butadiene copolymer in an amount of from 0.05 wt % to 10 wt %, based on the weight of the asphalt composition. The basic salt can be present in an amount of from 0.01 wt % to 5 wt %, based on the weight of the asphalt compositions. The acid can be present in an amount of from 0.005 wt % to 0.1 wt %, based on the weight of the asphalt compositions. Methods of making and using the asphalt compositions are also disclosed.
High Performance Tack Coat
A tack coat includes a first phase and a second phase. The first phase includes asphalt, and the second phase includes an emulsifier and a rheology modifier. Optionally, the second phase also includes a material insoluble in the water. The pH of the second phase can be between 1-3, 6-8, or 9-13.

Additive composition compositions intended to be mixed into bituminous conglomerates for road paving, comprising containing a thermoplastic polymer, a polymeric compound selected from the group consisting of polyvinylbutyral (PVB), polyethylacrylate (PEA) polymethylacrylate (PMA), polybutylacrilate (PBA), lignin and mixtures thereof, and graphene are disclosed. preferably wherein The graphene is contained in a quantity between 0.005 and 1% by weight based on the total weight of the composition. A bituminous conglomerate suitable for making a road paving, containing comprising aggregates, filler, bitumen and said the additive is also disclosed.
Thermoplastic elastomers via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization of triglycerides
The present invention relates to a thermoplastic block copolymer comprising at least one PA block and at least one PB block. The PA block represents a polymer block comprising one or more units of monomer A, and the PB block represents a polymer block comprising one or more units of monomer B. Monomer A is a vinyl, acrylic, diolefin, nitrile, dinitrile, acrylonitrile monomer, a monomer with reactive functionality, or a crosslinking monomer. Monomer B is a radically polymerizable triglyceride or mixtures thereof, typically in the form of a plant or animal oil. The present invention also relates to a method of preparing a thermoplastic block copolymer or novel thermoplastic statistical copolymers by polymerizing a radically polymerizable monomer with a radically polymerizable triglyceride or mixtures thereof via reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer polymerization (RAFT), in the presence of an free radical initiator and a chain transfer agent.
