Lysine-based polymer coagulants for use in clarification of process waters
Lysine-based polymers, particularly copolymers of lysine and maleic acid, are useful as coagulants for clarification of wastewaters, including produced waters from oils sands mining operations. They can be advantageously used in combination with commercial coagulants, and in combination with flocculants. Such combinations may include dry blends. Also described are methods of preparation of lysine homopolymers and copolymers.

Resin composition and resin molded body
A resin composition containing: a cellulose ester having at least two types of acyl groups; and an esterified starch.
Soft capsule based on starch and a method and device for the production thereof
A method for producing starch soft capsules comprises the following steps: preparing a mixture comprising starch, plasticizer and water, wherein more than 50 weight percent of the starch is present in the form of particles of granular starch; shaping the mixture to form a film in a shaping process; solidifying the mixture by increasing the temperature of the mixture during and/or after the shaping process by more than 5° C.; and shaping the film to form a soft capsule. Soft capsules produced by this method have starch particles bonded to one another. A device for performing this method comprises a shaping device to enable shaping of the starch material to form a film, and a heating device to perform a heat treatment to destructure the starch during and/or after the shaping. It comprises a rotary die device.

Oyster paper and manufacturing method thereof
An oyster paper and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The oyster paper is made of 60%-70% oyster shell powder, 10%-20% polymer, 15%-17% natural biodegradation inducing agent, and 3%-5% natural biodegradation assisting additive agent, by volume ratio, which are subjected to mixing and pre-melting processing, followed by compounding and pelletizing to prepare oyster paper pellets, which are then subjected to film blowing processing to be film-blown into an oyster paper product having a thickness of 0.05-0.5 millimeters. The oyster paper possesses the quality of wood pulp paper and shows bettered stiffness and wider applications. The oyster paper also provides, after being disposed and buried, an effect of being 100% natural degradation into compost for fertilizing the soil. As such, a kind of oyster paper featuring recycling and reuse of oceanic creature waste shell and natural microorganism induced degradation for composting and recycling and a manufacturing method thereof are provided.
SIZING COMPOSITION FOR MINERAL FIBERS AND RESULTING PRODUCTS
The present invention relates to a sizing composition for mineral fibers, especially glass fibers or rock fibers, containing a liquid phenolic resin having a free formaldehyde content, expressed with respect to the total weight of liquid, of 0.1% or less and an extender.
Preferably, the liquid phenolic resin is mainly composed of phenol-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde-amine condensates and has a water dilutability, at 20° C., at least equal to 1000%.
Another subject of the present invention is the insulating products based on mineral fibers treated by said sizing composition.
