Applicants have developed novel methods and compositions for controlling, treating, preventing, or ameliorating arthropod infection and identifying kinin receptor agonists and antagonists. Novel compositions include one or more active agents of small molecules antagonists or agonists of arthropod kinin receptor. Methods of preventing disease development and infestation by arthropods are disclosed as well as methods of making, using, and producing such compositions.

USE OF CYP450 INHIBITOR IN INHIBITING OR KILLING MITES AND TREATING XEROPHTHALMIA
The present invention relates to a use of a CYP450 inhibitor in inhibiting or killing mites and treating xerophthalmia. A large number of experiments show that the CYP450 inhibitor can be used for inhibiting or killing mites, can effectively shorten the survival time of mites, and can be used for a mite killing and inhibiting product (such as drugs, cosmetics, daily necessities, or the like). In addition, it is found that the CYP450 inhibitor may also be used in the treatment of xerophthalmia, and can effectively alleviate and improve the symptoms of xerophthalmia.

The present invention relates to seed treatment compositions comprising combinations of a compound of formula (I), wherein: R is hydrogen or fluorine; and R.sup.2 is: in which n is 0, 1 or 2: with a compound selected from a group consisting of mixing partners; and to seed treatments and methods of controlling or preventing damage to plants seed treatments comprising such combinations.
