A coloring composition includes a metal azo pigment, a compound having an ethylenically unsaturated bonding group, and a solvent, the metal azo pigment includes at least one kind of an anion selected from an azo compound represented by Formula (I) or an azo compound having a tautomeric structure of the azo compound represented by Formula (I), two or more kinds of metal ions, and a melamine compound, and in Formula (I), R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represent OH or NR.sup.5R.sup.6, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each independently represent O or NR.sup.7, and R.sup.5 to R.sup.7 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group.

Disperse Azo Dyes
The present invention relates to disperse azo dyes of formula

R.sub.1 is bromo, nitro, cyano, methyl, methoxy or trifluoromethyl;
R.sub.2 is hydrogen, chloro, bromo or trifluoromethyl;
R.sub.3 is hydrogen, chloro, bromo, methoxy, trifluoromethyl, nitro or cyano; and
R.sub.4 is methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, 2-methoxyethyl, methoxycarbonylmethyl or 2-methoxycarbonylethyl;
with the proviso that R.sub.1 is cyano in case R.sub.2 denotes chloro or bromo,
to a process for the preparation of such dyes and to their use in the dyeing or printing of semi-synthetic and, especially, synthetic hydrophobic fibre materials, more especially textile materials.
Whitening agents for cellulosic substrates
The present application relates to novel whitening agents for cellulosic substrates. The whitening agents are comprised of at least two constituents: at least one chromophore constituent and at least one polymeric constituent. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. The whitening agents are further characterized by the polymeric component comprising at least two repeating glycerol units. This disclosure also relates to laundry care compositions including but not limited to liquid and/or powder laundry detergent formulations and rinse added fabric softening (RAFS) compositions that comprise such whitening agents.

Provided are a coloring composition capable of producing a film having fewer defects generated, and the like even in a case where the coloring composition is stored for a long period of time in an environment with variations in temperature, a color filter, a pattern forming method, a solid-state imaging device, and an image display device. The coloring composition includes a heterocycle-containing coloring agent such as a compound represented by Formula (1), a phthalimide compound, a solvent, and a resin. In Formula (1), R.sup.1 to R.sup.13 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent, and adjacent groups of R.sup.1 to R.sup.8 may be bonded to each other to form a ring, provided that at least one of the pairs of adjacent two groups of R.sup.1 to R.sup.8 is bonded to each other to form an aromatic ring. ##STR00001##

LEATHER-LIKE SHEET AND FIBER STRUCTURE
A leather-like sheet including: a fiber structure including fibers dyed with a dye containing a blue cationic dye having an azo bond; and an elastic polymer applied into internal voids of the fiber structure, wherein the leather-like sheet further includes a polyhydric phenol derivative having anionic properties, or the fiber structure is disclosed. Also disclosed is a fiber structure including fibers dyed with a dye containing a blue cationic dye having an azo bond, or a leather-like sheet including the fiber structure and an elastic polymer applied into internal voids of the fiber structure, wherein the leather-like sheet has a color difference (E) before and after a moist heat treatment, determined when subjected to the moist heat treatment at 80 C. and a humidity of 90% for 48 hours, of E2.
Signal encoding for physical objects including dark ink
This disclosure relates to advanced image signal processing technology including encoded signals and digital watermarking. One implementation is directed a printed object comprising: a substrate comprising a first area; a first colored ink or design printed within the first area, the first colored ink or design comprising a spectral reflectivity of less than or equal to 20% at or around 660 nm; a colored ink mixture printed over the first colored ink or design at a first plurality of spatial locations within the first area, the colored ink mixture printed such that the first area comprises a second plurality of spatial locations without the colored ink mixture, the colored ink mixture comprising opaque white ink and a first colorant, wherein the color ink mixture comprises a spectral reflectivity greater than the first colored ink or design at or around 660 nm, and wherein colored ink mixture comprises a spectral reflectivity less than the first colored ink or design in the range of 495 nm-570 nm; in which the first plurality of spatial locations is arranged in a pattern conveying an encoded signal, and in which the first colored ink or design and the colored ink mixture comprise a spectral reflectivity difference at or around 660 nm in a difference range of 8%-30%. Of course, other objects, methods, packages, labels, containers, systems and apparatus are described in this patent document.
ANISOTROPIC LIGHT ABSORPTION FILM AND LAMINATE
An object of the invention is to provide an anisotropic light absorption film having both a high alignment degree and high light resistance, and a laminate provided using the anisotropic light absorption film. An anisotropic light absorption film according to the embodiment of the invention is formed from a composition having a first dichroic azo dye, a second dichroic azo dye, and a compound represented by Formula (I) or a polymer thereof, the first dichroic azo dye has a solution absorption maximum wavelength of 400 nm or greater and less than 550 nm, the second dichroic azo dye has a solution absorption maximum wavelength of 550 nm or greater and 750 nm or less, and the film has an arrangement structure of the first dichroic azo dye or an arrangement structure of the second dichroic azo dye therein.
