Pigment Yellow 74, a specific by-product and water to heat treatment at a temperature of from 160 to 210 C.; and [2] a method of reducing a content of a by-product in a raw material pigment composition containing C.I. Pigment Yellow 74, the specific by-product and water, said method including the step of subjecting the raw material pigment composition to heat treatment at a temperature of from 160 to 210 C.
Method for producing quinacridone solid-solution pigment, pigment dispersion, and ink-jet ink
A quinacridone solid solution pigment that allows a colored product to have high chroma and a properly yellowish hue and has a controlled particle diameter, and a method for producing the quinacridone solid solution pigment. In the method, a water-containing crude quinacridone solid solution is produced by a co-cyclization reaction of a diarylaminoterepththalic acid and a dialkylarylaminoterephthalic acid in polyphosphoric acid, then the resulting water-containing crude quinacridone solid solution having a mass ratio of unsubstituted quinacridone to a 2,9-dialkylquinacridone of 85:15 to 60:40 is dried, thereby obtaining a powdery, crude quinacridone solid solution having a water content of less than 1%. Then, the resulting powdery, crude quinacridone solid solution is heated in a liquid medium that does not dissolve the crude quinacridone solid solution. Also, a pigment dispersion liquid and an inkjet ink each containing the obtained quinacridone solid solution pigment are provided.
POLYURETHANE DISPERSANTS, PIGMENT DISPERSIONS AND AQUEOUS INKS
This development pertains to polyurethane resins for producing stable pigment dispersions that are compatible with co-solvents and humectants used in aqueous ink jet inks. Inks with improved flow in printhead and penetration of substrate may be obtained.

POLYMERIC DISPERSANT AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR, AQUEOUS PIGMENT DISPERSION, AND WATER-BASED INK-JET INK
The present invention provides a polymeric dispersant that is to be blended in an aqueous pigment dispersion in which a pigment is finely dispersed in a stable manner and at a high level, the aqueous pigment dispersion enabling preparation of an aqueous inkjet ink capable of recording an image excellent in adhesiveness and durability on plastic media and textiles. The polymeric dispersant is a polymer that includes a constituent unit (i) derived from styrene, a constituent unit (ii) derived from methyl methacrylate and/or the like, a constituent unit (iii) derived from 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate and/or the like, a constituent unit (iv) derived from 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and/or the like, and a constituent unit (v) derived from methacrylic acid, and at least part of carboxy groups is neutralized with an alkali.
Self-assembled nano-structure particle and method for preparing
Novel, nano-structured particles are formed by introducing a selected solid of interest into a structured fluid matrix formed by a dispersion of a small molecule host vessel components, such as a native or modified polysaccharide, cavitand, simple sugar, simple polyol or other similarly structured molecule known to be useful as a host vessel, in an acidic medium or other solvent, whereby the particle size of the introduced solid is reduced and or limited in the structured fluid matrix, by incorporation into or attachment to, the host vessel. The simple, one-step mixing process results in stabilized colloidal dispersions of the nanoparticles useful in a wide variety of applications.
AQUEOUS PIGMENT DISPERSION
The present invention relates to [1] a pigment water dispersion containing pigment-containing crosslinked polymer particles, in which a crosslinked polymer in the particles is a polymer that is crosslinked with a crosslinking agent represented by the general formula (1), and [2] a process for producing a pigment water dispersion containing pigment-containing crosslinked polymer particles, including the following steps (1) and (2): Step (1): subjecting a pigment mixture containing a pigment, a water-dispersible polymer and water to dispersion treatment, thereby obtaining an aqueous pigment dispersion solution containing pigment-containing polymer particles; and Step (2): mixing the aqueous pigment dispersion solution obtained in the step (1) and a crosslinking agent represented by the general formula (1) to react the water-dispersible polymer with the crosslinking agent, thereby obtaining a pigment water dispersion containing pigment-containing crosslinked polymer particles.
