An ink jet ink composition contains a disperse dye, and a compound represented by the following formula (1): ##STR00001##
In the formula, Ar.sub.1 and Ar.sub.2 each independently represent an aryl group; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each independently represent a chemical species selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl groups having a carbon number of 1 to 3, a sulfo group, —O—SO.sub.3H, a carboxy group, and a hydroxy group; and n's each independently represent an integer of 0 to 5. The content of the compound represented by formula (1) is 0.1% by mass to 20% by mass relative to the total mass of the ink jet ink composition.

The present invention relates to a method for producing test pieces in which the thickness of the samples of homogeneous water-insoluble material is uniform, and to a method for quantitative analysis of water-insoluble material by analyzing such test pieces using MALDI mass spectrometry. Specifically, the test pieces can be produced by: adding a volatile solvent to a mixture of water-insoluble material and matrix; placing, in a pellet cup made of water-soluble material, and pressing, with even pressure, the sample obtained by mixing the mixture of water-insoluble material and matrix until the solvent has evaporated; and melting the pellet cup with water.

A thickness-detecting bond primer is disclosed. In various embodiments, the thickness-detecting bond primer includes a solvent configured for application to a metallic surface; and a dye dispersed within the solvent, the dye having a concentration within a range of about 0.001 weight percent to about 5.0 weight percent of the thickness-detecting bond primer.

A color material dispersion liquid comprising: (A) a color material, (B) a dispersant and (C) a solvent, wherein the color material (A) contains a lake color material of a combination of an acid dye and a polyaluminum chloride; a basicity of the polyaluminum chloride is 70% or more; and a value of a ratio (I.sub.4/I.sub.6) between an integral value (I.sub.4) of a peak corresponding to a four-coordinate aluminum in a solid-state .sup.27Al-NMR spectrum of the lake color material and an integral value (I.sub.6) a peak corresponding to a six-coordinate aluminum therein, is from 0 to 0.50.
