Radiation-curable compositions of Pigment Violet 23 are described which can be used advantageously in UV inks for inkjet printing machines. Soiling containing such UV inks, especially within inkjet printing machines, can be removed particularly easily in a contactless procedure with conventional cleaners. The radiation-curable compositions described contain at least one modified Pigment Violet 23 which carries at least one polar functional group of the formula (I):
X-E (I) where X is a bridging group and E is a polar molecule radical.
MELTABLE FLUORESCENT DYE FOR LEAK DETECTION
A process for applying a fluorescent leak detection dye to a component of an air conditioning system. The process involves the steps of (i) providing a fluorescent dye that is solid at room temperature, (ii) exposing the dye to an elevated temperature to melt the dye into a liquid or flowable state, (iii) injecting, channeling, spraying or placing the flowable dye into or on a component or an HVAC or A/C system, (iv) allowing the dye to resolidify in or on the component, (v) attaching the component to the HVAC or A/C system, and (iv) dissolving the resolidified dye in a liquid/gas.
DRY DYE PAD FOR FISHING LURES
A dry dye pad for dyeing fishing lures can include: a dye; and a substrate comprising polymer particles suspended in a liquid plasticizer, wherein the substrate forms a permanently plasticized solid after heating and cooling. The substrate can be a plastisol. The plastisol can be heated and cooled to form the dye pad with the dye. The fishing lure can be dyed by contacting at least a portion of the fishing lure to a surface of the dry dye pad. The fishing lure can be dyed in as little as 1 to 3 seconds. The dry dye will not stain a user's skin. A stencil can be placed over the surface of the dry dye pad to create a dyed pattern on the fishing lure. The lure can be dyed with more than one color and patterns to create a lure that resembles bait or prey for fishing.
ANTHOCYANIDIN COMPLEX
The invention relates to a complex of an anthocyanidin and a methylated -cyclodextrin which can be formulated as an aqueous solution and as a solid, and to a process for the preparation of such a complex. Complexes according to the invention are storage-stable and can be readily formulated in aqueous solution.
NEAR-INFRARED ABSORBING COMPOSITION, NEAR-INFRARED ABSORBING FILM, AND IMAGE SENSOR FOR SOLID-STATE IMAGING ELEMENT
Provided is a near-infrared ray absorbing composition containing at least a near-infrared absorber, a metal compound, and a solvent, wherein the near-infrared absorber contains a metal ion, and the metal compound is a compound having a structure represented by the following Formula (I), Formula (II), or Formula (III),
M(OR.sub.1).sub.nFormula (I):
M.sup.n+(OR.sub.2O.sup.).sub.nFormula (II):
(OR.sub.3).sub.n-mM.sup.n+(.sup.OCOR.sub.4).sub.m,Formula (III): in the above Formulas (I), (II), and (III), M represents at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of titanium, zirconia, and aluminum; when M represents titanium or zirconia, n=4, m=1, 2, 3, or 4; when M represents aluminum, n=3, m=1, 2, or 3; R.sub.1 to R.sub.4 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, and R.sub.1 to R.sub.4 may further have a substituent.
Occult particles for use in granular laundry care compositions
This invention relates to non-bleeding, non-staining occult particles for use in granular or powdered laundry care compositions such as laundry detergents, laundry aids, and fabric care compositions. The occult particles are comprised of a clay carrier and a coloring agent and are characterized as being substantially indiscernible when contained in the laundry care composition.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING QUINACRIDONE SOLID-SOLUTION PIGMENT, PIGMENT DISPERSION, AND INK-JET INK
The present invention relates to a technique for providing a quinacridone solid solution pigment, by which a quinacridone solid solution pigment that allows a colored product to have high chroma and a properly yellowish hue, and suitably, that has a controlled particle diameter and has the above-described, desired hue can be obtained. The present invention provides a method for producing a quinacridone solid solution pigment, wherein a diarylaminoterepththalic acid and a dialkylarylaminoterephthalic acid are subjected to a co-cyclization reaction in polyphosphoric acid, thereby obtaining a water-containing crude quinacridone solid solution such that water is contained in a solid solution having a mass ratio of unsubstituted quinacridone to a 2,9-dialkylquinacridone of 85:15 to 60:40; the water-containing crude quinacridone solid solution obtained above is dried in a drying step, thereby obtaining a powdery, crude quinacridone solid solution having a water content of less than 1%; and the powdery, crude quinacridone solid solution is heated in a liquid medium that does not dissolve the crude quinacridone solid solution in a pigmentation step, and the present invention also provides a pigment dispersion liquid and an inkjet ink each containing the obtained quinacridone solid solution pigment.
