Novel Whitening Agents for Cellulosic Substrates
The present application relates to novel whitening agents for cellulosic substrates. The whitening agents are comprised of at least two constituents: at least one chromophore constituent and at least one polymeric constituent. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. This disclosure also relates to laundry care compositions including but not limited to liquid and/or powder laundry detergent formulations and rinse added fabric softening (RAFS) compositions that comprise such whitening agents.

The present invention further relates to a pigment dispersing agent, a pigment composition, a pigment dispersion and a toner containing that compound.

The ambient temperature liquid-form organic material according to the present invention consists of a -conjugated molecule having 2 or more side chains, the 2 or more side chains are same or different side chains selected from the group consisting of a branched alkyl chain, an alkyl chain having a polymerization site at a terminal, an oligosiloxane chain, a fluorocarbon chain, an oligoethylene glycol chain and derivatives thereof, and each of the 2 or more side chains is bound directly or via a substituent to the -conjugated molecule.
Thiophene azo dyes and laundry care compositions containing the same
This application relates to thiophene azo dyes for use as hueing agents, laundry care compositions comprising such thiophene azo dyes, processes for making such thiophene azo dyes, and laundry care compositions and methods of using the same. The thiophene azo dyes contain a formally charged moiety and are generally comprised of at least two components: at least one chromophore component and at least one polymeric component. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to ultraviolet light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. These thiophene azo dyes are advantageous in providing a hueing effect, for example, a whitening effect to fabrics, while not building up over time and causing undesirable blue discoloration to the treated fabrics. The thiophene azo dyes are also generally stable to bleaching agents used in laundry care compositions.

A coloring composition having excellent light fastness, color migration properties, and flatness, a colorant, and a method for producing a colorant are provided. Further, a cured film, a color filter, a method for manufacturing a color filter, a solid-state imaging device, an image display device, and an organic electroluminescent element, each using such the coloring composition, are also provided. The coloring composition contains a colorant represented by General Formula (1) and a curable compound, and has a specific absorbance of 5 or more at a maximum absorption wavelength of 400 nm to 800 nm. R.sup.1 represents an (m+n)-valent linking group, P represents a monovalent substituent having a repeating units derived from a vinyl compound, D represents a colorant structure, and R.sup.2 and L.sup.1 each independently represent a single bond or a divalent linking group.

REACTIVE DYES
The present invention is related to reactive dyes each of which comprises a dichlorotriazine or chlorotriazine group and has a desired UV/visible absorption spectrum for selectively filtering a certain color light. They are suitable for method for producing colored silicone hydrogel contact lenses each made of a silicone hydrogel material having hydroxyl groups. The present invention is also related to a colored silicone hydrogel contact lens comprising a colored annular ring and/or a colored circular area in which a reactive dye is applied and thereby covalently attached.
