Method of forming nanoparticles having superhydrophobicity
A method of forming nanoparticles having superhydrophobicity includes preparing a PDMS film including a structure having a predetermined shape on a surface thereof, and generating the nanoparticles having superhydrophobicity on the surface of the PDMS film by combusting the surface of the PDMS film using a diffusion flame. Transparent nanoparticles having superhydrophobicity and oleophobicity may be generated simply and easily on the surface of the PDMS film.
POROUS METAL OXIDE MICROSPHERES
Porous metal oxide microspheres are prepared via a process comprising forming a liquid dispersion of polymer nanoparticles and a metal oxide; forming liquid droplets of the dispersion; drying the droplets to provide polymer template microspheres comprising polymer nanospheres; and removing the polymer nanospheres from the template microspheres to provide the porous metal oxide microspheres. The porous microspheres exhibit saturated colors and are suitable as colorants for a variety of end-uses.
Composition for Liquid-Based Additive Manufacturing
Surface treated silica containing particles are combined with a resin to form a liquid prepolymer composition for use in additive manufacturing. A surface treatment on the silica containing particles may participate in polymerization of the composition. The silica containing particles may be colloidal silica or a silica polymer composite particle.
POROUS METAL OXIDE MICROSPHERES WITH VARYING PORE SIZES
Porous metal oxide microspheres are prepared via a process comprising forming a liquid solution or dispersion of polydisperse polymer nanoparticles and a metal oxide; forming liquid droplets from the solution or dispersion; drying the liquid droplets to provide polymer template microspheres comprising polymer nanospheres and metal oxide; and removing the polymer nanospheres from the template microspheres to provide the porous metal oxide microspheres. The porous microspheres exhibit saturated colors and are suitable as colorants for a variety of end-uses.
Method for producing silica aerogel blanket having high thermal insulation and high strength
Provided is a method for producing a silica aerogel blanket having high thermal insulation and high strength, wherein an acicular metal-silica composite is added to a step of preparing a silica precursor solution during the production of the silica aerogel blanket to produce a silica aerogel blanket having characteristics of high thermal insulation, high strength, high thermal resistance and low dust.
Oil-in-water type emulsion and method for producing oil-in-water type emulsion
An oil-in-water type emulsion is characterized in that a fumed silica particle group in which lower order aggregates are aggregated with each other to form a higher order aggregate by a non-chemical bond forms a network-like surrounding structure including an oil inside the network-like surrounding structure.
PREPARATION METHOD FOR SPHERICAL SILICA POWDER FILLER, POWDER FILLER OBTAINED THEREBY AND USE THEREOF
A preparation method for a spherical silica powder filler comprises the following steps: S1, providing spherical polysiloxane comprising a T unit by means of a hydrolysis condensation reaction of R.sub.1SiX.sub.3, wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen atom or an organic group having independently selectable 1 to 18 carbon atoms, X is a hydrolyzable group, and T unit is R.sub.1SiO.sub.3—; and S2, calcining the spherical polysiloxane under the condition of a dry oxidizing gas atmosphere, the calcining temperature being between 850° C. and 1200° C., so as to obtain the spherical silica powder filler which does not contain silica particles of which the diameter is less than 50 nanometers. The spherical silica powder filler does not contain silica particles of which the diameter is less than 50 nanometers, has a low dielectric loss and a low thermal expansion coefficient, and is suitable for high-frequency high-speed circuit boards, prepregs or copper clad laminates, etc.
Core shell silica particles and use for malodor reduction
The present invention relates to core shell silica particles, wherein each core shell silica particle comprises a silica core, and a surface of the silica core is etched with metal silicate, the core shell silica particles prepared by: i) admixing an amount of silica particles in water with an amount of a base, wherein the base comprises a monovalent metal ion, to produce core shell silica particles, each core shell silica particle comprising a silica core, and a surface of the silica core etched with a silicate of the monovalent metal ion; and ii) reacting the core shell silica particles formed in step i) with a metal salt comprising a second metal ion, to form core shell silica particles comprising silicate of the second metal ion on the surface of the silica core.
