Composite of inorganic and/or organic microparticles and nano-dolomite particles

The present invention relates to composites, comprising inorganic and/or organic pigments and/or fillers in the form of microparticles, the surface of which is coated at least partially with finely divided nano-dolomite with the help of binders based on copolymers comprising as monomers one or more dicarboxylic acids and one or more monomers from the group of diamines, triamines, dialkanolamines or trialkanolamines, a method for producing such composites, aqueous slurries thereof, their use, and the use of the inventive binders for coating the microparticles with nano-dolomite.

FUNCTIONALIZED SILICA NANOPARTICLES FOR USE IN THIOLENE CURE 3D PRINTING

Colloidal nanoparticle dispersions. wherein said nanoparticles are selected from the group consisting of silica. alumina or silica aluminate nanoparticles and wherein said nanoparticles are surface-functionalized with an organosilane having organomercaptan functionality are described and claimed. Uses for these new colloidal nanoparticle dispersions include enhancing the performance of items made with resin formulations used in Thiolene-cure UV-curable materials.

Biological Composite Material

A plastics compound includes a biological component, wherein at least (a) at least one biomineral filler and (b) at least one polymer are processed to give a compound. This is done using a renewable biomineral filler having a high proportion of silicon dioxide.

Colored lamellar compositions

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a colored lamellar composition that may provide a wide range of colors. The process includes the steps of dispersing a colorant in a hydrocarbon, grinding the dispersed colorant to a particle size of less than about 1 micron (m), and spraying the colorant onto a lamellar substrate to provide the colored lamellar composition while mixing and heating the lamellar composition to remove the hydrocarbon.

Colored composite material

A solid composite material combining: an inorganic pigment in the form of discrete particles each comprising a colored core and a coating adapted to allow light to pass through and a matrix based on metalloid or metal oxide, said matrix being adapted to allow light to pass through.

Disclosed are compositions of fillers coated with adhesion promoting material alone, or also coated with an additive, processes for producing the coated fillers, the fillers obtained from those processes, and methods of using the coated fillers. The filler particle(s) are surface-treated with a component which assists in the adhesion/adherance of an additive to the filler particles, resulting in the desired additive-coated fillers. The filler, adhesion promoting material and additive can be mixed in slurry and dried, and the resulting filler particles are directly useful in many applications, such as paper coatings, plastic compositions (both foamed and non-foamed), inks, paints, cosmetics, textiles and the like, wherever such fillers now find application. Preferably, the additive is a colorant.

INORGANIC FILLING MATERIAL AND INORGANIC FILLING MATERIAL-REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC RESIN

A surface-treated inorganic filling material obtained by treating an inorganic filling material (A) with at least a polyrotaxane (B) whose cyclic molecule is modified with a graft chain having a reactive functional group, and a silane coupling agent (C). Provided is an inorganic filling material that constitutes an inorganic filling material-reinforced thermoplastic resin excellent in balance among rigidity, strength, and toughness.

Use of depolymerised carboxylated celluloses for dispersing and grinding mineral materials

The present invention concerns the use of depolymerized carboxylated celluloses as a dispersing agent or grinding aid agent for aqueous suspensions of mineral materials, intended for paint formulations, plastic formulations, detergent formulations, cosmetic formulations, paper formulations or paper coating colors.
