A NOVEL METHOD FOR CARBONIZING LIGNOCELLUOSIC MATERIAL AS A POWDER
20170313585 · 2017-11-02 ·

The present invention provides a novel cost efficient method for carbonizing lignocellulosic material to carbonized particles or agglomerates, preferably carbon powder. Also uses of said particles or agglomerates are disclosed.

CARBON-COATED PARTICLES

Core particles produced in situ or introduced as preformed core particles are coated with a layer of carbon. Non-carbon as well as some carbon-based core materials can be utilized. The resulting carbon coated particles can find applications in rubber products, for instance as reinforcement for tire components.

Carbon Black Feedstock from Direct Coal Liquefaction
20170313886 · 2017-11-02 ·

The invention described herein relates to a novel process to create carbon black feed stocks derived from coal by utilizing direct coal liquefaction resulting in an economic process for producing carbon black feedstock. Moreover, relative to the current state of the art (use of FCC slurry oil), the invention process will be significantly more profitable when oil prices increase.

Electrode mixture, preparation method thereof, and secondary battery including the same

An electrode mixture of the present invention comprises: an electrode active material; a binder; and a conductive material. When a cross-section of the electrode mixture is imaged such that a pixel filled 100% with a conductive material among a plurality of divided pixels is considered to be a condensed pixel and a value obtained by counting condensed pixels is considered to be the degree of agglomeration, the degree of agglomeration of a conductive material in the electrode mixture in the depth direction of the electrode mixture has a standard deviation less than 3.0. The electrode mixture as described above includes a conductive material uniformly distributed therein and thus has low electrode resistance. Therefore, the electrode mixture can improve output and lifespan properties of a lithium secondary battery to which the electrode mixture has been applied.

Thermoplastic Vulcanizate Compositions
20170292016 · 2017-10-12 ·

In methods for forming thermoplastic vulcanizates, and thermoplastic vulcanizates formed by such methods, a masterbatch comprising one or more additives in a carrier resin comprising propylene- or ethylene-based copolymer is added to the thermoplastic vulcanizate formulation. The resulting thermoplastic vulcanizate may additionally be passed through a 200 mesh or finer screen and thereafter extruded. The thermoplastic vulcanizates may exhibit increased extrusion throughput rates and enhanced surface smoothness.
