The instant disclosure relates to a composition for topical application to the skin comprising a first pearlescent uncoated pigment having an average particle size of 25 um or less; a second pearlescent pigment having an average particle size of 25 um or less, completely or partially coated with one or more layers of metal oxides; a first mica having an average size of 42 um or less, completely or partially coated with one or more layers of red iron oxide; and a second mica having an average size of 25 um or less, completely or partially coated with one or more layers of titanium dioxide. It also relates to methods of using said compositions.

METALLIC INKS COMPOSITION FOR DIGITAL OFFSET LITHOGRAPHIC PRINTING

The present disclosure is directed to a metallic ink composition for use in digital offset printing, comprising: metallic effect pigment particles, wherein an average equivalent sphere diameter of at least about 90% of the metallic effect pigment particles ranges from greater than 1 micrometer (μm) to 150 μm; at least one dispersant; at least one curable oligomer; and a photo initiator, wherein the metallic ink composition has a viscosity ranging from 150,000 to 1,000,000 millipascal seconds (mPa.Math.s) at 0.1 rad/s at 25° C. Also provided is a method of digital offset printing using the metallic ink composition of the present disclosure.

INTERFERENCE PIGMENTS

The present invention relates to interference pigments based on platelet-shaped substrates which are coated with at least four high refractive layers and to the use thereof, inter alia in paints, coatings, printings inks, plastics and in particular in cosmetic formulations. The interference pigments show a moderate chroma and can be used as effect pigments, as filler pigments and as protection agent against near infrared radiation, VIS and high energy light.

The present invention provides a new glitter pigment suitable for providing high-brightness whitish reflected light. The glitter pigment according to the present invention includes: a flaky substrate 1; and a silicon oxide layer 2 and a titanium oxide layer 3 formed in this order on the flaky substrate 1, wherein in the case where the flaky substrate is the glass flake, the glass flake has a thickness of 284 to 322 nm, the silicon oxide layer has a thickness of 89 to 109 nm, and the titanium oxide layer has a thickness of 51 to 86 nm. In the case where the flaky substrate is the alumina flake, the alumina flake has a thickness of 260 to 280 nm, the silicon oxide layer has a thickness of 79 to 102 nm, and the titanium oxide layer has a thickness of 47 to 87 nm.
