SYNCHRONOUS-TILT RECLINING CHAIR
A synchronous-tilt reclining office chair includes a seat, a backrest interconnected to the seat, and an arrangement providing a synchronous-tilt mechanism that controls synchronous movement of the backrest and seat between a normal non-reclined position and a reclined position. Recline tension provided by the arrangement is a function of a force required to compress at least one tensioning spring mounted below the seat, a weight applied on the seat by a seat occupant, and a location of the weight on the seat relative to front and rear portions of the seat, whereby, as the weight is applied toward the front portion of the seat, recline tension is reduced and, as the weight is applied toward the rear portion of the seat, recline tension is increased.
SEATING
A mechanism for raising and lowering an armrest for a seat includes an armrest, a rotatable hub, and an actuating linkage between the armrest and the hub, the rotatable hub having a cam that operates the actuating linkage to raise the armrest wherein the cam can rotate through a first angle of rotation where the actuating linkage is not operated a second angle of rotation where the actuating linkage is operated. The cam can rotate through a third angle of rotation where the actuating linkage is not operated, this angle being different to the first angle of rotation. The cam is torsionally linked to the rotation of a seat member.

Pivot fitting and piece of furniture
A pivot fitting has a first lever mounted such that is pivotable out of a starting position about a force-transmitting shaft serving as an axis of rotation in relation to the shaft. The fitting has a clamping mechanism fixing the first lever in different angular positions relative to the shaft. The clamping mechanism has a toothed-ring disc positioned on the shaft and has an outer toothing structure formed on the outer periphery, a catch mounted in a pivotable manner on the first lever and is loaded in the direction of the outer toothing structure and, in a latching position, is in engagement with the outer toothing structure. A first control disc is mounted in a rotatable manner about the shaft so that following movement through the predetermined angle out of the starting position in an adjustment direction, the catch is disengaged from the outer toothing structure, and with the catch disengaged from the outer toothing structure it is possible for the first lever to be pivoted back relative to the shaft into the starting position.

Fitting for seating furniture and seating furniture comprising such a fitting
A furniture fitting for an item of seating furniture. The furniture fitting has a base portion attaching to a furniture base that stands on a floor, a seat face portion attaching a seat face unit having a seat face, and a leg rest portion attaching a leg rest unit having a leg rest face. The seat face portion is attached to the base portion for movement between upper and lower terminal positions, and the leg rest portion is attached to the seat face portion for movement between a stowage terminal position and a use terminal position. The leg rest portion via a rear and a front pivot lever is attached to the seat face portion. A gear device kinematically couples the movement of the seat face portion in relation to the base portion to the movement of the leg rest portion in relation to the seat face portion.

Piece of seating furniture and fitting therefor
A piece of seating furniture with a base for setting up in a fixed position, a seating element tiltable in relation to the base and having a seating surface, and a leg support element movable in relation to the seating element and having a leg support surface. The leg support element is connected to the seating element via a link gear, wherein the leg support element is movable between a storage position and a use position via the link gear. An electric motor is provided below the seating surface, which acts on the link gear via a push rod. To connect the leg support element to the seating element, the link gear has a pivoting link which, during the transfer of the leg support element from the storage position into the use position, is arranged in part in a slot partially penetrating the leg support surface.

Furniture lock out system
A furniture system includes a base, a first linkage and a second linkage. The base is configured to be disposed on a flat surface and to be connected to an article of furniture. The first linkage is connected to the base and configured to be connected to the article of furniture. The first linkage is configured to be actuated to cause the article of furniture to translate relative to the base. The second linkage is connected to the first linkage. The second linkage is biased into a locked state in which the second linkage prevents movement of the first linkage. The second linkage is configured to be actuated by an applied force into an unlocked state in which the second linkage allows movement of the first linkage (and the article of furniture to which the first linkage is configured to be connected).
