NON-CHROMATED CORROSION-RESISTANT COATING
In one aspect, a coating for protecting a component exposed to a corrosive environment includes an epoxy phenolic resin, a non-chromated corrosion inhibitor pigment additive and a dispersing agent. In another aspect, a method of protecting an article exposed to a corrosive environment includes applying a corrosion-resistant epoxy phenolic coating to a surface of the article exposed to a corrosive environment and curing the corrosion-resistant epoxy phenolic coating. The epoxy phenolic coating contains up to 15 percent by volume of a non-chromated corrosion inhibitor pigment additive having a particle size less than 10 micrometers.
MATERIAL COATING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A material coating system for an apparatus having a housing configured to contain a fluid is disclosed herein. A multi-layer coating is applied to the housing to mitigate damage caused by external factors. The multi-layer coating includes: a layer of a primer coating having anti-corrosive properties, a layer of a mid coating having mechanical and chemical properties capable of at least partially closing a hole in the housing to avoid fluid leakage and optionally a layer of a top coating having properties that resist ultraviolet radiation from passing therethrough.
Hexagonal Boron Nitride Epoxy Compound Anticorrosive Paint, and Preparation Method and Use Thereof
The present disclosure discloses a hexagonal boron nitride epoxy compound anticorrosive paint, and a preparation method and use thereof. The anticorrosive paint mainly comprises hexagonal boron nitride, an oligoaniline or polyaniline nanofiber, an epoxy resin, a dispersing medium, a paint additive, an epoxy resin curing agent, and a solvent. The hexagonal boron nitride epoxy compound anticorrosive paint provided by the present disclosure has the advantages, such as good stability, simple preparation process, and low cost, does not tend to precipitate, is suitable for large-scale production, forms a coating that has excellent barrier properties and lasting corrosion resistance, and has very good application prospects in the industries, such as chemical industry, petroleum, electric power, shipping, light textile, storage, transport, and spaceflight.
COMPOSITIONS AND COATINGS WITH NON-CHROME CORROSION INHIBITOR PARTICLES
Compositions are described for protecting a metal surface against corrosion. The composition includes a corrosion-inhibiting particle. The corrosion inhibiting particle may be usable in an epoxy resin-based coating or an olefin resin-based coating. The particle may include a core and a protectant. The core may include a water soluble corrosion inhibitor. The protectant may be disposed on at least a portion of a surface of the core and may be covalently or ionically bonded to a thiol group of the corrosion inhibitor. The protectant may be configured to reduce reaction between the core and the epoxy resin or the olefin resin. Methods of making the compositions are also disclosed.
Coating composition and method for the protection of complex metal structures and components used in submerged environments
A coating composition for application to a subsea component or structure includes a cellulose acetate, a plasticizer, a vegetable oil, and an ethylene-based polymer stabilizer that are mixed together. The plasticizer is epoxidized linseed oil. The vegetable oil is selected from the group including vegetable oil and soybean oil. The ethylene-based polymer stabilizer has a pigment carried therein. The ethylene-based polymer stabilizer is low-density polyethylene. The pigment is titanium dioxide and carbon black.
COMPOSITES HAVING NOVEL ANTI-FOULING COMPONENTS AND METHODS OF MANUFATURE
Various methods for making material capable of forming anti-fouling and anti-corrosive coatings are disclosed. For example, a particular method may include providing an epoxy resin suitable to be applied to a rigid surface, and adding an amount of a blue-green algae extract sufficient to cause the epoxy resin to exhibit improved anti-fouling and/or corrosion-resistant properties as compared to the epoxy resin without the blue-green algae extract.
Anti-corrosion coatings loaded with mesostructured particles
Coatings, for example polymer coatings or sol-gel coatings, including at least one layer of micrometric, individualised and mesostructured spherical particles. The particles having been created and loaded with at least one element selected from corrosion-inhibiting functional molecules and corrosion-inhibiting functional nano-objects, by a method having non-dissociable nebulization-heating steps that are continuous in a single reactor. The coatings form an anti-corrosion system, having mechanical strength and/or for coloring. The coatings are applicable, in particular, in the field of protecting light aeronautical alloys against corrosion.

Stimuli-Responsive Micro-Reservoirs for Release of Encapsulants
This invention relates to polymer-based partially-open, hollow reservoirs in the nano-size to micro-size range that encapsulate an additive, which can be released from the reservoirs using specific event stimuli such as reduction-oxidation and voltage change, or at will, using the same stimuli. This invention also relates to method preparing such reservoirs, and for releasing the additive. This invention further relates to matrix that comprises such reservoirs and the method of preparing such matrix. This invention also relates to applications, for example in corrosion inhibition, lubrication, and adhesion, that benefit from using such a controlled release of an additive.
ANTICORROSION MATERIAL PRODUCED FROM DATE PALM TREE WASTE
Anti-corrosion material is produced from date palm tree waste by extracting lignin and modifying by sulfonation. The anti-corrosion material produced from date palm tree waste is non-toxic and effective at preventing or reducing corrosion of, for example, metals subject to corrosive environments, and particularly marine environments.
