COATED OILFIELD OPERATIONAL COMPONENTS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING AND EXTENDING THE SERVICE LIFE OF OILFIELD OPERATIONAL COMPONENTS
Coating compositions for coating an oilfield operational component, and related methods, may include in some aspects a coating composition having a trifunctional silane, a silanol, and a filler. The coating composition may be applied to a surface of the oilfield operational component that is configured to be exposed to a fluid. The coating composition may be applied to at least partially cover or coat the surface. The coating composition may be configured to chemically bond with a cured primer composition that includes an epoxy.
Anti-corrosion nanoparticle compositions
Anti-corrosion nanoparticle compositions include a carrier and a plurality of nonionic metal nanoparticles. The metal nanoparticles can be spherical-shaped and/or coral-shaped metal nanoparticles. The nanoparticles are selected so as to locate at the grain boundaries of a metal or metal alloy when the anti-corrosion composition is applied to the metal or alloy, thereby reducing or preventing intergranular corrosion of the metal or alloy.
Multifunctional Smart Particles
The present invention provides multifunctional particulates that release one or more functional compounds in response to environmental triggers and whose external surface modification imparts secondary functionalities to a selected coating composition. For example, disclosed are hydrophobic particles having a smart release mechanism for anticorrosion compounds that release the anticorrosion compounds upon exposure to the local pH changes induced by corrosion processes. Formulations are disclosed for multifunctional smart particles having antimicrobial effects and protections as well.
METHODS FOR PROVIDING FLEXIBLE AND/OR ELASTIC COATINGS ON OILFIELD OPERATIONAL COMPONENTS
WATER BASED SILICONE COATING COMPOSITIONS
A water based silicone coating includes: a water soluble ionic surfactant, water, a leafing pigment and a silicone resin emulsion.
METHODS FOR PREPARING COATING COMPOSITIONS FOR PROTECTING OILFIELD OPERATIONAL COMPONENTS
COATING COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR THE PROTECTION OF COMPLEX METAL STRUCTURES AND COMPONENTS USED IN SUBMERGED ENVIRONMENTS
A coating composition for application to a subsea component or structure includes a cellulose acetate, a plasticizer, a vegetable oil, a colorant, and a titanium dioxide stabilizer that are mixed together. The plasticizer is epoxidized linseed oil. The colorant is carbon black powder. The vegetable oil is selected from the group including vegetable oil and soybean oil.
Process for applying a metal-organic framework-containing corrosion resistant coating to a substrate
Processes, compositions and agents are included for inhibiting corrosion in various substrates, for example metal substrates. Corrosion inhibitors include organometallic polymers such as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), including compositions and processes comprising MOFs for inhibiting corrosion in metal substrates. In some aspects, a method of protecting a substrate from corrosion includes applying a protective composition including a corrosion inhibitor to the surface of a substrate, where the corrosion inhibitor includes a metal organic framework (MOF).
Aqueous coating agent and article using same
The present invention provides an aqueous coating agent including a vinyl polymer (A) having a basic nitrogen atom-containing group and a carboxylic group, a quaternary ammonium salt (B), and an aqueous medium (C). Particularly, the present invention provides an aqueous coating agent including a compound represented by General Formula (1) below as the quaternary ammonium salt (B). The aqueous coating agent has excellent adhesiveness, warm water resistance, corrosion resistance, and chemical resistance, and can form a film that is capable of preventing the deterioration of various substrates. ##STR00001##
In General Formula (1), R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or an aryl group.
