A low-specular-reflectance surface, includes a coating on a surface, wherein the coating includes a plurality of substantially spherical particles having a multimodal particle size distribution, wherein the particles protrude from a top surface of the coating to provide substantially spherical caps. The multimodal particle size distribution has two or more modes, each mode having a peak defining an associated mode particle size, wherein the distribution function includes a first mode having a first peak corresponding to a first particle size and a second mode having a second peak corresponding to a second particle size. A ratio of the second particle size to the first particle size is between 1.7-4.0. A smallest of the mode particle sizes is greater than or equal to 1.0 microns, and a largest of the mode particle sizes is greater than or equal to 3.0 microns.

Disclosed herein is a paint or stain aqueous composition comprising an optional opacifying pigment, a film forming latex resin and a redox-chased suspension bead preferably having an unreacted monomer amount of less than about 1,000 ppm. The redox-chased suspension bead preferably has a particle size (Dn) ranging from about 1 μm to about 45 μm, and the redox-chased suspension bead preferably comprises from about 3 wt. % to about 20 wt. % of the total polymer weight of the aqueous composition, and the redox-chased bead is non-film forming and is free of stripping.

Disclosed herein is a paint or stain aqueous composition comprising an optional opacifying pigment, a film forming latex resin and a redox-chased suspension bead preferably having an unreacted monomer amount of less than about 1,000 ppm. The redox-chased suspension bead preferably has a particle size (Dn) ranging from about 1 μm to about 45 μm, and the redox-chased suspension bead preferably comprises from about 3 wt. % to about 20 wt. % of the total polymer weight of the aqueous composition, and the redox-chased bead is non-film forming and is free of stripping.

An ultraviolet (UV)-resistant nanocomposite coating may include a polyaniline (PANI)/graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposite. The PANI/GO nanocomposite may include GO nanosheets that may be coated with PANI. The PANI/GO nanocomposite may be dispersed into a binding matrix.

Aqueous dispersion and uses thereof

The present invention relates to an aqueous dispersion comprising dispersed particles of an acrylic copolymer having a volume average particle size diameter (d50) of from 1 to 50 μm (microns), wherein the aqueous dispersion further comprises (i) an acrylic copolymer dispersant having an alkaline solubility higher than 50 wt. %, and being present in the dispersion in an amount of from 10 to 35% by weight, relative to the total amount of monomers used to prepare the acrylic copolymer of the dispersed polymeric particles; and (ii) decomposition products of an oil-soluble organic initiator.

In a light-blocking member (1) comprising a substrate (11) and a light-blocking membrane (21) provided on at least one surface of this substrate (11), the light-blocking membrane (21) containing an ultraviolet curable resin as a binder resin and containing a black pigment as a filler dispersed in this binder resin is employed. The light-blocking membrane (21) preferably further contains photo- and/or thermal polymerization initiators. In addition, the content of the filler in the light-blocking membrane (21) is preferably 10% by mass or more and 60% by mass or less in terms of solids based on all resin components contained in the light-blocking membrane (21).
