FIRE-RESISTANT, INSULATING, ECOLOGICAL AND CORROSION-INHIBITING COATING
The invention relates to a composition used as a fire-resistant, insulating, ecological and corrosion-inhibiting coating, comprising: 23-50% water, 4-20% diatomite C110 (Celite C110®), 2-8% manganese oxide, 3-10% calcined alumina, 7-24% elastomeric acrylic resin, 1-4% acrylic thickener, 0.3-2% ammonium hydroxide, and 5-14% ceramic fiber. Preferably, the composition also includes optionally the following components in order to provide the fire-resistant, insulating, ecological and corrosion-inhibiting properties: 1-7% titanium bioxide, 1-9% hexylenglycol, 2-18% dibutyl phthalate, 1-9% texanol, 0.7-4% fungicide, or 0.4-3% anti-foaming agent.

A union screw (1) for pipes (2) provided with at least one flare (21) comprises a metal base body (10) which accommodates the pipe (20). The union screw (1) further comprises a screw head (12), a threaded portion (13), a contact portion (15) which is configured to abut the flare (21) of the pipe (20), and a functional layer (40) with which the base body (10) is coated at least in the region of the threaded portion (13) and the contact portion (15). The functional layer (40) is multi-layered and consists of at least one base coat (41) and a top coat (42) applied to the base coat (41) at least in some areas. The base coat (41) forms a structure for creating corrosion protection and a far-reaching invariance with regard to the material of the usual friction partners of the union screw (1) which, in addition to a binder, also contains zinc in the form of zinc-containing lamellae (43), which are oriented to lie substantially flat on the base body (10).

The present invention relates to a waterborne composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of first and second multistage polymer particles, wherein each of the first and second polymer particles comprises a water-occluded core and a high T.sub.g polymeric shell wherein the second multistage polymer particles further comprise a polymeric binder layer superposing the shell. The composition of the present invention is useful for reducing the load of TiO.sub.2 in paint formulations, while producing coatings with excellent hiding and scrub resistance.

Corrosion inhibitors include organometallic polymers such as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), including compositions and processes comprising MOFs for inhibiting corrosion in metal substrates. In some aspects, a method of protecting a substrate from corrosion includes applying a protective composition including a corrosion inhibitor to the surface of a substrate, where the corrosion inhibitor includes a metal organic framework (MOF).

Provided are an insulation coating composition for an oriented electrical steel sheet, an oriented electrical steel sheet having an insulation coating formed on the surface thereof by using the same, and a manufacturing method thereof, and specifically, it is possible to provide an insulation coating composition for an oriented electrical steel sheet, including 0.1 to 7 wt % of hollow nanoparticles, 0.1 to 5 wt % of ceramic nanofibers, 0.1 to 5 wt % of mesoporous nanoparticles, 30 to 60 wt % of colloidal silica nanoparticles, and 30 to 60 wt % of phosphate, and to provide an oriented electrical steel sheet including an insulation coating produced by the composition on the surface of the oriented electrical steel sheet, including 0.005 to 0.05 wt % of any one element selected from boron (B), vanadium (V), or a combination thereof, 2.6 to 4.3 wt % of silicon (Si), 0.020 to 0.040 wt % of aluminum (Al), 0.01 to 0.20 wt % of manganese (Mn), in which the balance is composed of Fe and other inevitable impurities, and a manufacturing method thereof.
BUILDING ASSEMBLY CONTAINING A WATER BARRIER COATING FILM AND METHOD OF MAKING THE BUILDING ASSEMBLY
A building assembly can include a substrate and a water barrier coating film. The water barrier coating film can include a thermoplastic polymer and microporous particles, such as microporous glass beads. The water barrier coating film can provide a good protection towards liquid water but may allow water vapor flow from the substrate through the coating film. The water vapor permeability of the water barrier coating film can be at least 2 US perms as tested according to ASTM E96 (2014) at 21° C. and 50% average relative humidity.

This invention relates to the field of an electromagnetic (EM) field absorbing composition, in particular, those capable of providing absorbance in the frequency of commercial radar. The composition finds particular use as a radar absorbing coating for wind turbines, in particular for use in onshore and offshore environments. There are further provided coated surfaces comprising the composition, methods of absorbing EM radiation, and methods of use of such a composition, such that a surface coated in the composition is capable of absorbing EM radiation. There is provided an electromagnetic radiation absorbing composition comprising elongate carbon elements with an average longest dimension in the range of 50 to 1 000 microns, with a thickness in the range of 1 to 15 microns and present in the range of from 0.5 to 20 volume % dried, in a non conductive binder.

The invention relates to organic binder resins for aqueous coatings, comprising: a) a polymer P1, bearing reactive groups X1: hydroxyl and Y1: carboxyl with an OH number as a weight percentage of OH ranging from 2% to 5% and an acid number IA mg KOH/g of at least 10, said polymer P1 having a mass Mn1 of less than 25 000, and b) a polymer P2 bearing reactive groups X2: hydroxyl with an OH number as a weight percentage of OH ranging from 0.5% to 2.5%, groups Y2: carboxyl with an acid number IA in mg KOH/g<25, and groups Z2 chosen from acetoxy and/or diacetone and said polymer P2 having a mass Mn2 of greater than 500,000.
The invention also relates to a process for preparing said resin, to a metallic coating composition comprising said resin and metallic pigment, and to the use thereof.
