The layer formed using the ink composition has a refractive index of about 1.1 to about 1.5. A lateral luminance of the display apparatus is improved as a result thereof.
PHOTOCHROMIC COMPOSITIONS
A photochromic composition having at least one photochromic naphthopyran-based component with R′ and R″ groups selected from hydrogen, alkyl, fluorinated alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkylaryl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, halogen, amine, carbonate ester, carboxylate, aryl, substituted aryl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl or a heterocyclic group and Ar′ and Ar″ groups selected from unsubstituted or substituted cyclic five-membered or six-membered structures including benzene, pyridine, thiophene, furan, carbazole, triphenylamine, dibenzothiophene, dibenzofuran, fluorine, naphthalene, anthracene and pyrene. The photochromic composition is excitable under a visible light range to produce a color change. A second photochromic naphthopyran-based component with a different thermal decay rate constant (k) may further be included in the photochromic composition. The photochromic composition is incorporated into color-changing inks and polymers.

Graphene enhanced and engineered materials for membrane touch switch and other flexible electronic structures
This invention discloses formulations of mutually compatible sets of graphene, graphene-carbon, metal and dielectric inks for the fabrication of high performance membrane touch switches (MTS). The compositions of these inks are optimized to achieve higher degree of compatibility with highly engineered polymeric substrates, thereby offering a holistic solution for fabricating high-performance MTS. These sets of materials can also be used for fabrication of sensors, biosensors and RFIDs on flexible substrates, such as polymers and papers.
Visible light activated printing ink
A visible light activated ink that produces a color change when exposed to visible light is provided. The ink includes a visible light activated photochromic compound, one or more binders, additives including one or more surfactants, and a solvent. The visible light activated ink is substantially colorless in the as-deposited state and requires a visible light intensity of approximately 300 W/m.sup.2 or greater at a wavelength of approximately 400-700 nm to produce a color change.
WHITE INKJET INK
An example of a white inkjet ink includes a non-self-dispersed white pigment; an anionic cellulose; a polymeric binder; and an aqueous vehicle. The anionic cellulose is present in an amount ranging from about 0.01 wt% to about 5 wt% based on a total weight of the white inkjet ink. The white inkjet ink may be used in a textile printing kit.
ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED METAL ENERGETIC LIGAND PRECURSORS AND COMBUSTION SYNTHESIS FOR HIERARCHICAL STRUCTURE NANOPOROUS METAL FOAMS
Processes for tailoring the macroscopic shape, metallic composition, mechanical properties, and pore structure of nanoporous metal foams prepared through combustion synthesis via direct write 3D printing of metal energetic ligand precursor inks made with water and an organic thickening agent are disclosed. Such processes enable production of never before obtainable metal structures with hierarchical porosity, tailorable from the millimeter size regime to the nanometer size regime. Structures produced by these processes have numerous applications including, but not limited to, catalysts, heat exchangers, low density structural materials, biomedical implants, hydrogen storage medium, fuel cells, and batteries.
INKJET INK FOR TEXTILE PRINTING
An inkjet ink composition for textile printing comprising a white pigment, a pigment dispersant, a polyurethane-based binder, a nano-sized layered silicate and an aqueous liquid vehicle. Also described herein is a fluid set comprising said ink and a fixer composition including a cationic polymer and a fixer vehicle; as well as the textile printing method using it.
Methods and compositions for magnetizable plastics
Provided herein are methods and compositions comprising a non-toxic ferromagnetic ink composition. Also provided herein are plastic objects containing a surface coating of a food-safe ferromagnetic ink composition. The coating imparts functionality to a plastic object such that the object is capable of being mechanically separated from waste stream using a commercial magnetic separator. The food-safe ink composition, which can be printed using high-speed flexographic, intaglio, offset printing or pad printing, combined with heat transfer printing or hot foil stamping consists of an ingestible magnetically susceptible pigment capable of rendering the printed template with magnetically active properties. The surface of the plastic object described can consist of geometric designs which increase printable surface area without significant changes in dimensions of the said object.
