PHOTOCHROMIC COMPOSITIONS
A photochromic composition having at least one photochromic naphthopyran-based component with R′ and R″ groups selected from hydrogen, alkyl, fluorinated alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkylaryl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, halogen, amine, carbonate ester, carboxylate, aryl, substituted aryl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl or a heterocyclic group and Ar′ and Ar″ groups selected from unsubstituted or substituted cyclic five-membered or six-membered structures including benzene, pyridine, thiophene, furan, carbazole, triphenylamine, dibenzothiophene, dibenzofuran, fluorine, naphthalene, anthracene and pyrene. The photochromic composition is excitable under a visible light range to produce a color change. A second photochromic naphthopyran-based component with a different thermal decay rate constant (k) may further be included in the photochromic composition. The photochromic composition is incorporated into color-changing inks and polymers.

The present invention also provides an ink composition containing light-emitting nanocrystal particles and a photopolymerizable compound, wherein the photopolymerizable compound has a Log P value in the range of −1.0 to 6.5, and the ink composition has a water (H.sub.2O) content of 90 ppm or less measured with a Karl Fischer moisture meter. The present invention also provides a light conversion layer including a plurality of pixel units, wherein the plurality of pixel units include a pixel unit containing a cured product of the ink composition, and the light conversion layer is formed of the cured product of the ink composition. A water-based ink jet ink composition according to the present disclosure includes: a colorant; an amine; and a water-soluble low molecular weight organic compound and is used for recording on a non-absorbing recording medium or a low-absorbing recording medium. The water-soluble low molecular weight organic compound contains an alkylene glycol monoether (B) represented by general formula (1) having a standard boiling point of 210° C. or less and an alkanediol (A) having a standard boiling point of 210° C. or less at a mass ratio (B/A) of 0.2 to 0.9, a content of a water-soluble low molecular weight organic compound having a standard boiling point of 250° C. or less is 8 to 30 percent by mass with respect to a total mass of the ink composition, a water-soluble low molecular weight organic compound which is an alkane polyol having a standard boiling point of more than 250° C. is not contained at a content of more than 3 percent by mass with respect to the total mass of the ink composition, and a content of the amine with respect to the total mass of the ink composition is 5 percent by mass or less.
