Provided is an aqueous ink for ink jet containing coloring material-particle and resin particle. The resin particle is formed from a crystalline polyester resin having carboxylic acid groups. A difference between a 50% cumulative particle diameter (D.sub.50C) in a volume-based particle size distribution of the coloring material-particle and a 50% cumulative particle diameter (D.sub.50R) in a volume-based particle size distribution of the resin particle (D.sub.50C-D.sub.50R) is 10 nm or more. In addition, an ink cartridge and an ink jet recording method using this aqueous ink are provided.

A water-based ink includes a colorant, water, a penetrating agent, and a wetting agent. The penetrating agent includes diethylene glycol monohexyl ether (DEHE). The wetting agent includes a compound having an SP value of 12 to 14. A ratio (A/B) of an amount (A) of the compound having an SP value of 12 to 14 to the amount (B) of DEHE is 2.5 or more. The wetting agent preferably includes at least one of triethylene glycol and tripropylene glycol. The ratio (A/B) of the amount (A) of the compound having an SP value of 12 to 14 to the amount (B) of DEHE is preferably 2.5 or more and less than 10.

An amount of the compound of formula (1) relative to a total mass of the water-based ink is preferably 0.1 to 2.0 mass %. An amount of the compound of formula (2) relative to a total mass of the water-based ink is preferably 1.0 to 10.0 mass %.

A water-based ink includes water, a colorant, and a water-soluble organic solvent. The water-soluble organic solvent includes a penetrating agent and a wetting agent. The penetrating agent includes a compound of formula (1), and the wetting agent comprises a compound of formula (2). In formula (1), x is 4 or more, and y is 2 or more, in formula (2), x is 2 or more. An amount of the compound of formula (1) relative to a total mass of the water-based ink is preferably 0.1 to 2.0 mass %. An amount of the compound of formula (2) relative to a total mass of the water-based ink is preferably 1.0 to 10.0 mass %.

Colored resin particle dispersion and inkjet ink

A colored resin particle dispersion and an ink are provided which yield excellent abrasion resistance and prevent change in the color tone. Moreover, a colored resin particle dispersion and an inkjet ink are provided which exhibit excellent abrasion resistance, together with excellent water resistance and marker resistance. Specifically provided is a colored resin particle dispersion containing colored resin particles, a basic dispersant, and a non-aqueous solvent, wherein the colored resin particles include a colorant, a solid resin and a liquid organic compound having an acidic group, and the oxidation-reduction potential of the colored resin particle dispersion is 300 mV or less. Also provided is an inkjet ink containing this colored resin particle dispersion.

A colored resin particle dispersion and an ink are provided which yield excellent abrasion resistance and prevent change in the color tone. Moreover, a colored resin particle dispersion and an inkjet ink are provided which exhibit excellent abrasion resistance, together with excellent water resistance and marker resistance. Specifically provided is a colored resin particle dispersion containing colored resin particles, a basic dispersant, and a non-aqueous solvent, wherein the colored resin particles include a colorant, a solid resin and a liquid organic compound having an acidic group, and the oxidation-reduction potential of the colored resin particle dispersion is 300 mV or less. Also provided is an inkjet ink containing this colored resin particle dispersion.
